Automatic Commentary Selecter

I was wondering,what with the availability of the commentary files for Fifa 2003 if anybody is/could make a program that would pick the relevent commentary for the club i.e. Real Madrid - Spanish Commentary , Man Utd - English , and so on.
I know that you could do this with FifaFX.
What do ya know people?

Is there actually diffrent country commentry? It looks like motty and mcoist is the only commentry files in the game...although I havent changed the language selection yet...does this change the commentators? It does seem weird having motson comentating on a serie A match though.

U can download the files from various sites.Try www.fifa4fans.de they have spanish, italian, french and english. www.fifauruguay.com have all the above and portugese also.They are all quite large but worth getting.Once you have the files you can select the commentary typr by changing the language settings but its not quite te same as having it done automatically.

there are 2 differnt easy ways to use more than one commentary


easiest:
copy your commentaries into

data\audio\spc\eng
data\audio\spc\spa
data\audio\spc\ger
data\audio\spc\ita
.....


than you create small batchscripts in your Fifa2003-maindirectory that rename the folders
example:

move /y data\audio\spc\eng data\audio\spc\engORIG
move /y data\audio\spc\ita data\audio\spc\eng

Now the italian commentary is inside the eng-folder and will be used if you have the english version installation


Kenny from the german fifacity found a very smart solution that can be used ingame to change between commentaries within the options menu:

requires more than one language datasets !

In the german installation you can choose between several menu languages.

The trick is now to fool Fifa ;)

The german menulanguage data is stored in fcdb_ger.dbi and ger.loc

Besides these 2 files, there is also a fcdb_eng.dbi and eng.loc and fcdb_spa.dbi and spa.loc, ...

Now backup the whole fe-folder.

If your main-language is english you have to replace all the other language data-files with the english-datafiles.
Means:

rename a copy of fcdb_eng.dbi to fcdb_ita.dbi
rename a copy of eng.loc to ita.loc

rename a copy of fcdb_eng.dbi to fcdb_spa.dbi
rename a copy of eng.loc to spa.loc

rename a copy of fcdb_eng.dbi to fcdb_ger.dbi
rename a copy of eng.loc to ger.loc

etc.....

When you now copy these files into data\cmn\fe you can choose between the different languages in the options menu ;)
