IMO there is NO problem with the shooting system. When you have sussed it it's absolutely fantastic and very realistic.

I play on top player level and I am scoring 1,2 or 3 in nearly every game..occasionally I get a 0-0 but that's football....and so is ballooning the ball over the bar sometimes..

Also, the " Henry passes the ball into the net " goal is alive and very much kicking in this game I am glad to report....enjoy!!! :wootman:

post of vid of such a situation! i cant rate what i havent seen!

of course these "rules" apply for 25-30 yards shoots also! why shouldnt they?

Well they dont, its easier to get your shot on target from there than it is in the area, and thats even if you have your pace button pressed or are under pressure etc.

The shooting system defiently isnt 100%, but its pretty damn good. Its definetly not about powering the ball from outside the penalty box, hell even the goals I score from outside the penalty box arent scorchers, they are just well placed usually lofted. Even upclose shots just have to be well placed or alternatively you have to use clever passing that keeps the defence and goalie guessing and confused.

But I think the number one thing is touch or power, be very light on the shoot button, lighter than you think you have to be, and more shots will be on target. Unless you have someone like Henry who's shot power and accuracy are about the same, you'll have to hold back, example player Babel or even Fabregas I think, whos power generally far outstrips there accuracy.

I personally find a powerful shot is maybe a little over a quarter of the power bar, and I alaways aim to keep it under half.

Someone also made a good point about wether you are running, or you have pressure on you, or the angle, or a weak foot shot, or things like transitions where turning and immediatly shooting without some settling of the player decreases accuracy. Also if the ball is even a little bit up in the air that just means you will need less power...really all those things are as in real life.

if u inside the box press the shooting button then pres R2 the player will shoot it low and slowly with very high accuracy u can guarantee 90% goal
i usually get aloot of goals with shoot from all over the places inside out side even from the side especially when u shooting with Carlos

I finally cracked scoring! slow down, pick your spot and massage the ball into the net.Choose amongst;faking the shot and rounding the keeper, going for the far post,or just hitting it wit a bit of power towards goal and praying for a miracle. Too many goals now is my complaint!

I sorted shooting out by simply changing where i directed the ball, using the ps2 analog stick i always did a shot by press top right on the analog, but now i go and press BOTTOM right or left and get alot on target and in the net

interesting thread (H)....here is my take

First, i must admit the shootin isnt the best but its rewarding once u get the feel of it...i was also so pissed at it that i once literally smacked my hand on the keyboard and injured my wrist ....but i realised (as every PES gamer does) that practice is the ultimate solution :jambo:

IMO, composure is the most important aspect in the shootin....thats y R2 is very important and it will result in better shots and they also depend on the player stats, his positioning and the cpu ai

Konami try to create as much 'randomness' as possible so that the game doesnt feel scripted and they do a hell of a brilliant job at that...its football and its random as it should be...it depends on how u react to it and make it work ur way ;)

One thing I've noticed about PES players is that the more lacking in their intelligence, the more they believe the game is realistic and the more they are able to ignore the underhand cpu scripting. Bless their stupid little cotton cocks.

Every video game is scripted. If there were no scripts in the game, it wouldn't be a game. it would be a movie, or a still picture.

man you must really suck if you miss wide open goals all the time. It must suck being you. :sb9:

No they're not, you pathetic runt. There are many computer games that set out the laws of physics as best they can and then let the human and AI players play a real game within this consistent physics model.

PES, on the other, makes no attempt to recreate the laws of physics as they really are but instead, scripts some farcical physics model which varies continually to suit the current position in the script that has been written for every match. The laughable "laws of physics" are in a state of perpetual change in order to "make things happen" so that every match is "exciting". This is why so many people who have played PES are left appauled at how poor it has been allowed to become.

One doesn't play PES, one watches it.

There is another very important factor in the accuracy of shooting and that is ....have you pressed the dash button just before the shoot button? Sounds stupid but I have come to realise that even if you are pressing R2 when you press the shoot button, if you have pressed the dash button just before (maybe to get past a defender) you are often missing the target. If you don't believe me, try it. IMO this is pretty much crucial in shooting accuracy.... :D

I have finally sussed out the scoring system in PES6 ....

Whatever team you are playing press the shoot button when approaching the goal from the left hand side diagonally and you can be guaranteed to put the ball 10 feet over the net.

Whatever team you are playing press the shoot button when approaching the goal from the right hand side diagonally and you can be guaranteed to also put the ball 10 feet over the net.

Approach the goal straight on and press the shoot button and you can be guaranteed to put the ball at least 25 foot over the net.

HOWEVER .... if you have an open goal in front of you and are in the box quickly press the SHOOT button and you will guaranteed to put the ball at least 15 foot over the net.

If you have tried all of the above TRY AGAIN, because in time you WILL score a random and rare goal. Oh Yeah.

Does CONAMI make those golfing games that no one buys??? Maybe the programmer got his codes a bit mixed up. I mean shoot button / drive button could easily be mixed up.

Elkjaer or whatever your name is. Dont reply cos it will be an insult or abusive and why you ain't banned from this site is a mystery ....

anyway......
Go play Fifa, mite be easier for u, shooting is not a problem in pes6, learn.

At first it was a major issue. Now its a breeze i score goals for fun on professional or top player levels. Obviously not every player in the game can shoot. So i only shoot with the ones that can.

sorry, but this is definitly false!
you will recognize it when playing training-mode as i described above.
when you replay a scene, and you always do exacly the same, then you will notice that also the result is always the same. so how can this bis "completely random"???

im tired of trying to show you all details wich are affecting a shoot but i cant leave so much ignorance alone!
your shot will become less accurate when you:
are running.
try to shoot while the ball is directly on your foot.
try to shoot while the ball is too far away, so you only touch the ball slightly with your forefoot.
are under pressure.
run out of stamina.
try to shoot while turning.
try to shoot from an angle >45°.
try to shoot directly after a hard shift in direction or feint.

so when you try to keep that mind, (what should be no problem if you know how football/soccer is played), then you will notice that shooting in pes6 is not "completely random"!!!

I have exactly one word to prove that everything you said above is BS and none of the influences you mentioned has any bearing on the actual outcome of a shot:

Adriano

You know why Konami put all these stats in the game? No, not because they have any influence on the game situation but only so that useful idiots like you are easily impressed and can lecture others about how the angle of the foot or the length of the moustache of a player leave their mark on the ball's speed and how this game is so 'complex' and 'realistic' and 'like the real thing' and 'how it's like so amazing how many aspects play a role in it'.

Of course you don't have any proof for what you're babbling on about (unless you point out the code for me where this is actually done), but since PES is a religion to you it MUST be so, no?

Hahahaha.........only if your useless at PES

Its funny how out of nearly 40 replys in this thread there are only 2 who in some way agree with you after you said:-

There is loads of ppl who think the shooting system sucks

which just show what a bull******* you are , If you actually had some sort of descent argument for what you claim then people would be interested in what you say, but all you can do is insult everyone who disagrees with you.
The fact that you keep resorting to insults obviously prooves that these are all of the repressed feelings you have about yourself. Now go to the toilet and make yourself sick

To the numpty who replied to this have a look at this post ....

...theres more than 2 people who think this game sucks like the shooting system , the gameplay being rubbish.

Sorry if it doesn't agree with you.
