Hi

is there any way to assign buttons for the menu screens just as you do for the game play? i mean, like assigning with which button you enter another screen, go back to the previous page/screen and pause the game. Is there any way?

There is a way to assign buttons for the menu screen but you first need to get a tool known as "FIFA 08 Gamepad Configurator v1.9ab" which is available at fifa4fans site. This tool allows you to, well configure buttons of your game pad as you prefer. you first feed data into it and then generate devdata file and replace it with the original one in fifa folder inside My documents folder. Remember you have to change your gamepad's name in the registry.

But there is twist to it. It is a german product.

Frankly I didn't understand what u r saying, but if u r talking about the utility "FIFA 08 Gamepad Configurator v1.9ab" then u don't need to understand install it. Just download it, save anywhere u like then double click it to use it. U need to have ur joystick pluged in for it to work. Then u just need to fill in the appropriate values in the input boxes. Well this utility is in german language, so if u don't understand use google translator. then click "Devdata profil.............." or some thing similar. This will generate a devdata file. with desired button configuration for joystick named "Default Pad".
So, just change name of ur joystick to "Default Pad" through registry editor. and enjoy

Thanks again for the answer and sorry for annoying you, actually the problem is that i tried to use it for fifa 2007 because i thought they were compatible but it didnt work. But also wanted to specify that i dont need to change the button configuration of the game when playing, but only when browsing the menus. I found some codes on the net that explain the structure of the devdata.file but only for the buttons when playing the game. Im still to figure out what to change in order to define the buttons for the menus the way i want to. If you know something about this please let me know.

Sorry to disappoint u, but don't know much about FIFA 07, I thought u were talking about FIFA 08. I don't similar kind of utility even exists for 07. But if i find any I will definitely let u know.

Dont worry, i know that. However im sure that the devdata file works the same with both games, so if you know about how to modify it to get the menu buttons changed i would appreciate you let me know regardless of whether the method is for fifa 08 or 07.

Sorry again, I don't have much idea about devdata file. All I know about it is that the 1st line is dedicated for button configuration for game play (ingame button configuration), 2nd line is button configuration for menu. So, you need to focus on the second line but I don't know which set of number is responsible for which button.
