I really think losing Gilberto cost us the premiership. The way ManUtd and Chelsea play defense against Arsenal, very disciplined and tough in the box, makes it very difficult for Arsenal to score. A longrange shooter can open up their defense and pull them out more and then create even more chances, inside the box. I understand where you are coming from, defense is the problem and it is mostly because the back four haven't been protected by the midfield. When I think of longrange players I think of Lampard, not Toure and Sol. True they have finished from longrange but only once each, correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think they could be consistent and their opportunities are limited because they play in the back. If Gilberto or Vieira could hit from longrange, that would be ideal. I still wouldn't replace Gilberto or Vieira, unless for a large amount of money, then I would be tempted.

He's 19. Cesc will be 18 in two or three months. He will be a world great.
And so will Ramos. I agree with him being too young to move, especially
to another part of the world to play on the big stage right away, but his talent surpasses that. It's all about mentallity. For example, Reyes has a terrible mentallity. He's only starting to get used to life over here.

Ramos seems on the mature side of things. Fortunately.

Hleb looks like a good player at least in FM he is, still young, although i think we should focus transfer activites on defence, because its getting crowded up front with the talent in the reserves pushing hard.

I think pennant needs to just STFU and prove his worth. he doesn't realise in what a privaliged position he was in and could be at b'ham, or maybe he does and thats why he is looking to blame someone else for his downfall. I saw a documentary about his agent (also sol's agent) and when he was at leeds he was being mothered so much it was untrue, all the while when he is on loan his agent is constantly telling he this is your last chance so its not like he was unaware of his position at the club. he is the only person to blame for his demise. :boohoo:

As for Ramos he has a minimum release of £18m i can't see Wenger paying that much , but i can see Fergie paying that without a problem so its up to the player to decided. He cant be in a hurry to come to London though with us having a reletively poor season and the whole Reyes situation, having said that man u have had a simular season so IMO he will stay at Sevilla probably.

I hope so.
Otherwise it would be horribbly unfair.

I just don't understand why we have to put up with Lauren for much longer, or a few
others for that matter. It's pretty easy to predict the events, or lack thereof I should say
that will happen over the summer anyways.

very good one.. although reyes had a pretty bad game, he had a massive chance and blew that, and then he didn't do well in passing, crossing, or dribbling...

lets hope for the best
