# An increase in stadium capacity will enable the many thousands of supporters who are unable to attend matches to do so in the future.

# An increase in matchday capacity from 38,000 to 60,000 will generate substantial additional income, in order to sustain and develop the Club's football success.

# Playing in a world class stadium will affirm and further support Arsenal as one of the World's leading Clubs, both on and off the field.

# An improved stadium, providing a range of additional facilities will make spectators' visits more pleasurable and encourage wider involvement, particularly amongst women and families.

# New stadium will have improved access for disabled supporters and enhanced sight lines for all spectators.

# Up to 250 seats within the stadium are designed for use by people with disabilities, who will be able to utilise up to 100 mobility impaired parking spaces. This exceeds the recommended minimum seating provision set out in the Government's Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds and is more than double the amount currently provided at Highbury.

Then in like 2006/2007 it will go back to Old Trafford who will hold about 75k :p

BTW someone asked what will be of Highbury. It will be turned into a modern family garden park, which will be filled with plants and trees and everything. I am not really sure but to me it looked like a good botanical garden.

Will they reconstruct or just totally tear it down? Cause you can't really just put plants in the stands, put some benches on the field and call it a park. :p

Reconstruct. Those commentator glass boxes and other vip places are really good for walking by. From the pictures i saw, if they will do the same, then i gotta tell you, it would be the best botanical park in the world.

For me ... no.

For Arsenal fans however it would be like a dream to live right in and look everyday at the legendary place.

They're going to tear it down and sell pieces of the stadium in an auction or something.

They have already begun the selling process of the property that Highbury is currently on. It was an important part of the financing of Ashburtons Grove.
