Italian media says that the deal between Parma and Juve has almost been completed: Juve would pay 7 million Euros and their half of Brighi for Appiah. I can't understand why are they taking him... to warm the bench? Too good for this. Or maybe they're giving Maresca away, but the boy's good. Who knows.

i haven't heard anything about this transfer but he had a Brilliant season with Brescia last season.

Milan also wanted to sign him.... as did Roma.

Roma wanted Appiah before they signed Dacourt, Milan was after him, but somehow couldn't present the right offer.
Damn, it pisses me off so much. Juve getting all the best young talent in Italy. Maresca, Blasi, Miccoli... damn. How much it pisses me off.

It's not confirmed by either club's sites but I think it's going to be done. He his the next Davids(I hope) and he's only 22. Maybe Conte will leave and make place to this youngster or they will loan him for another year.

Another great deal for Juve.

Sculli will never play for Juve, believe me. He's terribly over-rated. And I'm so pissed off... with these signings, Juve will almost surely be 2003/2004 Italian champions.

06/29/2003. There are unconfirmed reports out of Italy that Juventus have acquired Stephen Appiah from their Serie A rivals Parma in exchange for Emiliano Moretti and the one year loan of Manuele Blasi.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian –who had a highly encouraging season on loan for Brescia last year- is seen as something of a diamond in the making and could prove the eventual successor to Edgar Davids.

Parma fans aren't likely to be too enthused with the deal as Moretti is a solid but unspectacular young defender, while Blasi is a gifted midfielder but probably won't be relinquished by Juve come the end of next season as they are always kick to stress that he is part of their long-term plans.

Apparently Moggi has said the transfer is essential confirmed. Appiah was one of the top performing midfielders in Serie A this past year and plays very similar to Edgar Davids. Overall for the year he was rated 3rd best midfielder in Serie A according to Datasport. This means Juve has #1, 3, 5 and 6 from this past season in their midfield now (Nedved, Appiah, Davids and Camoranesi) (H)

I was not expecting this transfer, but Appiah is a top player! This could make way for the sale of Davids in the winter perhaps?

Parma must be in financial trouble because Appiah would have been a starter for them next year. Its too bad because I want to see them do well.

So this means Brighi remains a 50/50 Parma and Juve player for now.

It's now official. Juve pay 2m euro's + 6 more if they keep him. In return, they give up Emilano Moretti(definitive) and Manuele Blasi(1 year loan) to Parma.

Roma - The deal is done...2 days later its not.

anyway, good signing again. Pity about Blasi being loaned though for a year.
