Hundreds of sites purporting to sell goods such as Ugg boots(discount ugg boots) and Tiffany & Co jewellery pay up to £5 “per click” to Google to ensure that their site is prominently displayed as a sponsored link at the top of search results.A Google search of “Ugg boots(ugg classic cardy boots)” revealed several fake sites with Google sponsored links, including www.uk-boots-ugg.com and www.ukboots-store01.com. These sites pay about £3.50 every time a user clicks on the link. The real Ugg site(ugg classic tall boots), www.uggaustralia.com, is not a sponsored link.Fraudsters, mostly based in China, are duping Britons into buying fake items such as Ugg boots(ugg classic short boots) and Links of London jewellery that appear as Google-sponsored links. In many cases the goods never arrive and customers’ credit card details are put at risk. The genuine Ugg Australia(ugg fluff flip flop sandals) and ghd websites — uggaustralia.com and ghdhair.com — have a useful tool that allows you to type in a web address to check whether it is an authorised seller of their products. Generally, any website with a strange domain name — especially ones that include numbers or hyphens — should be treated with caution(ugg classic tall metallic). If a website ends in .co.uk, it does not necessarily mean that the seller is based in the UK.
