Directx 10 is finished before it even started

Directx 10.1 will replace directx 10 when microsoft release vista service pack 1 at the end of the year or early next year.

Directx 10 graphics card will still work with directx 10.1 but won't take advantage of the new features that direct x 10.1 will have.

I'm looking to upgrade myself, but at the rate pc technology is advancing it's pointless upgrgrading at the moment if you can wait a little bit longer.

Mate, that will always be a problem in the PC market, ALWAYS. Whever you want to buy a new PC, why buy it then, when if you wait a few more months proces will drop and new technology will appear?

If you keep that mentality then you will NEVER buy a PC...and that is true.

However thanks for bringing this info to my attention!

However, as you can see, buying the latest graphics card that will support 10.1 isn't really a great thing because you might not be able to run a lot of today's games. Look at people who have Vista. They can barely run half of today's games because people still don't know how to 'harness the power of vista'. However I see Vista more of a drawback than an evolution. it's a program pretty similar to XP, except that it feed like a monster on your RAM.

Kobem, I have a question. If you have a PCI computer, how can you support AGP graphics cards??? I remember when I bought my ATI Radeon 9250, AGP cards weren't compatible for me...
