I have had a problem with a DVD game ever since I bought it...not that I think the disc is the problem ? well maybe some of you can tell me different?

I have a DVDCD ROM Drive which is D:/ .. I put the disc in and the game installs and when the Atuo-Menu comes up I press PLAY and the game runs.. ok so far.

But after a few games , when I go to play it again I put the disc in the Drive light comes on "flickers" and brings up the Auto-Menu. I press PLAY and it runs for a moment or two and then I get an Error Box .. Which reads :- No Disc Found. I try again same thing, as a last resort I uninstall my DVDCD ROM drive reboot and try again...IT WORKS the game plays.. but then again after a few days of play..when I go back to it, put the disc in I get the "No Disc Found" I go for the uninstall as it worked before but not this time. After the reboot and install of drive I still get the "No Disc Found". So I try again , only this time the when I put the disc in the drive light "Flickers" and after a few moments goes out but no Atuo-menu comes up ?

So I go to Start/Run and pick D:/ to have a look in the disc and start it from there...No! as soon as I pick browse on the RUN fuction I get ... this Error Msg ...

D:/ Is not accessible

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error??

What can I do to get this running again ??? As I said I don't think its the disc if it were ? would it read and install the game and play then later NOT read or Play... I just put a normal PC CDROM game in and it read and played from the D:/ .... but now it will not read or play the PCDVD game anymore as it use to?

Please Help!

Ok ... I just put my DVD game into my DVDRW Drive E:/ as soon as I inserted the disc it read it and brought up the Auto-Menu and I picked "Install" the drive ran right away and began to Install the game. After the game was installed and the Auto-Menu came back up , I picked "play" from the menu. I the drive ran for a moment, then I heard the dreaded Clung of an Error box apprearing... No disc inserted ..

Sorry if before I put no disc found ..but same thing?

Why do these drive see and install the game but not play it?

Well take that back slightly , sometimes they do run and play the game??? its driving me nuts

Its a HITACHI DVD ROM GD-2500. My other Drive is a DVDRW LITE-ON LDW-8115.

I read through a few posts on here and seen one about REGEDIT. I looked in there and the games folder was still in there! So I took it out and rebooted. I re-installed the game ( PES3 ) and my ROM once again seen the disc and I loaded the game from the Auto-Menu that came up, when it had finished installing the Auto-Menu popped up back with now extra choice of PLAY. I pressed the play button and it worked!

So I came back out and added a Kits and Stats Patch that I had used in the game last week when the game was running fine. So after I added the patch with the disc in the drive I hit the Shortcut on desktop and waited, after a few moments and up came the "No disc inserted".

As this patch had worked before with no problems I thought it couldn't be the patch that I had added? To make sure I uninstalled the game once more checking with REGEDIT that the Konami folder was gone! It was.

So I once again re-installed the game as before and once it had finished I hit the PLAY as before, but unlike the last reinstall the "No disc inserted" came back up.

As I had said before "Both" Drives see the disc when I am doing a fresh install, and once it's in the Auto-Menu gives me 6 option. 5 of the 6 are Uninstall / Read Me / Direct X / Settings and exit all of which when I press on the Auto-Menu work. The only one that I seem to have a problem with is the PLAY ...

ALL of my other PCCD ROM and DVD Movies play on both Drives, for some reason this DVD game sometimes does and then doesn't??

Thanks for your help ..........

is it an original DVD or a copy.
If it's a copy it may have been burned poorly and plays only in a particular model of DVD player.
You have a DVD burner , why not copy the game and try that option.
Also, have you updated the firmware for your LiteOn, they issude an update a month ago, I think.
