What the hell do u mean by Pac is the best black rapper of all time. Thats like saying Pele is the best black footballer of all time. Why does the world always need to categorise everything. Now unless u feel the best rapper of all time is something other than black (which is not the case) then ur use of the word black is unnecessary. Im not trying insult u in any way but its becoming common practice these days for minority achievements to not be universally applauded. Just the other day during Tiger Woods poor showing in a golf tournament, some trick-hoe commentator had the nerve to say "Tiger Woods is undoubtedly the best minority golfer ever". I mean who the **** says **** like that. Its about time the world gave people their just due regardless of race.

Anyway, back to the argument as to who is the greatest rapper: I think its important to distinguish between a great lyricist and a great rapper. Biggie in my opinion is the greatest lyricist of all time. He was known to come up with his rhymes on the fly, spontaneously, taking about 6 minutes to do a song. Second geatest lyricist will be Jay-Z. A great lyricist makes a great MC, and a great MC is always a great freestylists, battle-rapper. That is what Biggie was. Witty, quick with words, and spontaneous with his thought process, while at the same time creating a sick rhyming flow. Now a great rapper does have to have some flow, rhyming skills, but he need not be as spontaneous and great with his words as a lyricist. However, what made Tupac great was the impression he had on u. It was a combination of his subject matter, how he delivered it, his charisma, his voice and his realness. Trust me BIG had a lot of this but not to the level Pac did. Pac made u live and breathe along with his words, and u loved him even more because he was just the embodiment of so much of hip hop in his time.

You read it totally wrong.

He didn't mean that Pac is the best rapper. He meant the best black rapper, as in that Eminem perhaps could be better (and Eminem isn't black obviously).

Therefore it was necessary to signify that he was talking about black rappers only. The best black rapper, meaning that he took out Eminem out of the equation when he said that.

(not that I agree with him though)

I get what you're saying with the whole generalization thing though, specifying the race to categorize people. "The urban black youth" etc... I hate it too, but it was not the case here.

I mean he'll find it difficult enough against his contemporaries like Jigga, Kweli, Mos Def, Nas, DMX, Canibus etc, how much more the legends. I said I didn't agree with it.

But that's what he meant. He's obviously not a big hip hop fan, if he says "Without a doubt Better Dayz is his best album" so don't get overly worked up over his opinion

people are saying biggie is a better freestyler, pac was way ahead of him

I think All eyez on me was by far his best album. Even better than the greatest hits album which was basically all eyez on me with a few tracks added on from the other albums.
