Any guides to editing national teams?

Right, from the searches I've done I've found that it does seem to be possible to edit national teams but this can only be done using a hex editor. I have no idea how to use a hex editor or what file I should be editing with it. Can anyone who has managed to do this give me some advice as to how I can get it done? I can't seem to find this info anywhere else, apologies if it has already been posted.

I am wanting to put in a Classic Scotland team over one of the nations. I already have the kits done (which I can post if anyone else wants them) so I just need to edit the teams name and their supporters colours and flags - which should be a bit simpler hopefully seeing as I can just take these from the current Scotland team.

I know I could just stick them over the top of PES United or something but I'd rather use them as a proper national team.

Any help would be much appreciated...

(I have WE8 for PC but presumably its the same process as for PES4)

open the pes4.exe with a hex editor, find Ukraine for eg and overtype as C.Scotland, think the number of letters has to match though?
I'd like to see the classic kits, which ones did you do?

Cheers Jim, you got a free Hex Editor you can recommend?
(edit - scrap that, just realised there was a hex editor in one of the Wolfs Tools & Utilities downloads, going to give that a shot)

These are the kits I did, I know the badge isn't correct on the home kit I made but never got round to changing it yet...

Didn't make any keeper kits, any chance I can have that one you've done please?

Thanks Jim. Not too fussy about the years the goalie kits are from as both the home and away kits I made are from different times anyway. Think that away kit wasn't introduced until 88 or 89. The players I have in the team are a total mix too from '80 up until around '92.

i did this some time ago, i changed everything other than the supporters colours, if you find any way to do this tell us too :)

Don't fancy my chances of being able to change the supporters colours if nobody else can do it...guess I'll have to try and edit over a team that is already blue.

Dudeman, did you find a way to get around the name having to be the same length as the team you are editing over?

well CraigR the new name i put in was two digits longer then the old one,this is how i did it and it worked for me :)

I used a program called "XVI32" (its free, do a google for it) as the hex editor and in the white area you type the name of the team and then on the end of the name i changed the next square to 00 (you do this by puting 03 in the area for that square) and then the next one i change that to ã (you do this by puting E3 in the area for that square)

Thanks, although that hex stuff doesn't make much sense to me right now. What is the '00' and 'ã' doing exactly?

I need Japan to change to Classic Scotland or C Scotland.
Also can you change the teams 3 letter name to SCO?

Would rather not go over Japan but they are the only team to have similar supporter colours that are a bit crap. So they'll have to make room.
