I see your point Capello and Stalin's statement has a great ring of truth, but, at least for me personally. I saw the man collapse on the field on live coverage that is an unforgetable image; it made me realize things about life and death the frailty of it and immediately you start thinking deeper than just some dude that died. You think of his family, you think of his child. Life as one man said is a big circle, as you witness the death or failures of another man, immediately you feel connected and related to them; it is the humanity in all of us....I guarantee you if we saw those african children die before our very eyes everyday on tv or whatever the impact of their deaths would be much greater to us, we would also think of them, their families and their young age....And yes, our perspective is warped by the exposure this man had; we see him we "know" him we feel bad.

I dont know you, but I wonder If you have had a friend, or someboday that you just happened to know, Maybe not your best friend, but somebody you knew die. Maybe then you could relate better.

maybe i am but yuo certainly don't understand what i'm saying
solskjaer will be missed in terms of football, he's not dead it has nothing to do with this, at least for me it doesn't
as i said before i'm sorry for his death but i'm sure he led a good life and he was happy. at least that. most of the people i'm talking about can't say that about they're lives
of course it's not usual for a young player to die like this but for me i can't feel that sad. i will feel sad if someone close to me dies
but i'm also sad about those other people who i don't know
to me the problem is not that you're here talking about puerta, it's that you don't even think about the other stuff that's happening. no one does, that's the problem
again, i'm sorry if i offended anyone
That's so deep. You really touched my soul.

Seriously. We're not here to discuss the importance of the man in the inmensity of the universe. If you can't understand that people feel sad when a 22yo footballer dies, show some respect and go away, because all you're saying is very unnecessary and this is not a thread to discuss your philosofical doubts.

I am very sad. If you think I'm hipocrite, I don't care. How do you know what I think anyway? Think about how many people could eat with the money that you spend in your internet, your ipod or your computer. Yeah, that would be an interesting topic, but I'm sure there are better places to discuss about that.

This is terrible. I was shocked when I read the news. Only 22 and such a talented football player.

Rest in peace. :(

Changed the thread title.

RIP - very good young footballer and a decent guy by the sounds of it.

From his Wikipedia article:

"Doctor Francisco Murillo reported that Puerta had suffered multiple organ failure and irreversible brain damage as a result of multiple prolonged cardiac arrests due to an incurable, hereditary heart disease known as arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy."

An incurable, hereditary heart disease. Why do i have the impression the Sevilla doctors knew about it? Dont players have regular exams? How do they let him anywhere near a football pitch if they knew it?
