Swindon Town may disappear after they reveal they have debts of £5 million. They have had financial trouble for the past few seasons.

I think a drastic overhaul of the Nationwide League is needed, and I can see in the future clubs becoming part time.

With the Nationwide I think that they should scrap national divsions 2 and 3 and make a division 2 North and a division 2 south. At least it reduces traveling costs and more fans are likely to attend the home games as a lot of the opponents will be from nearly towns and cities, therefore increasing gate profits.

Reoganise the Nationwide Divisions to something like in the past?Well that's a good idea but will it actually solve problems?Attendences at the smaller clubs will still continue to suffer due to the widening income gap between Nationwide and Premiership Clubs.

There should be more television coverage for the lower divisions....after all 2nd/3rd division football is as exciting as premiership football.....

you are right... it is a cruel world out there... who said that football is fair... no one will watch those matches if the TV stations are stupid enough to show it...

TV stations will televsie more of these games as there will be more derby matches.

the biggest gap is not between the PL and D1, it's between D2 and D3, so remove that gap.

2 regional leagues (this is the situation with a number of european countries, esp Germany who have four regional divisions after the top 2 divisions.

As an update now lads, were not bust and won't be going bust either. We now have debts of 3m. It is slowly but steadily getting paid off.

Thats good news, aslong as the club's making profits, there shouldnt be much to worry about, just performance's on the field. :)

I'm a big fan of my local team Lincoln City. At the end of the 01/02 season we were the 1st club to go into adminastration mainly becuase of the huge amount of money lost from the collapse of ITV digital. We had to sell lots of players and the manager left. The club couldn't even afford transport to away games! One of the fans donated money for transport costs. As we were also battling aginst relegation the gates were very low with the majority of games bairly hiting the 3,000 mark. The club pulled through and managed to pay of the majority of debts, this couldn't of happened without of the support of the local community, the people of Lincoln.

To start the 02/03 season the assistant manager took over. The board gave him no money for transfers. Because of his excellent scouting skills and experience he took on a lot of players from the conferance and lower leagues for free. The players were given very little wages but they battled all season. Then the clubs fortune changed. We got to the divsion 3 play-off final at the Millenium stadium! 15,000 fans made the trip, we lost 5-2 but there ya go. The club made huge profits from the past season. We were getting attendances of 5-7000 towards the end of the season. The club had survived!!

This season were doing well and we've been able to buy better players in a bid for promotion to Division 2.

I think the idea of North and South divisions is ****. Clubs can clear there debts and can battle on!!!!

reorganise the Nationwide Leagues into North and South Sections??

Your having a Laugh arent you??? Perhaps it would boost attendances with more away fans travelling etc but too be honest I wouldnt want a local derby each and every week. I'd rather go down south now and again, nowt like setting off at 8am too go too Bristol City away etc.

Swindon were charging £21 too get in last season and they Have signed around 13 Players this summer.

At Least when my team (oldham) we're buying people we had a backer, till he got fed up and left us in the sh!tter. :f***: and since then we've made drastic cuts.

We Let go 13 players just too get money going out into a reasonable figure, we've had too play the Youth Team as the Reserves and the Youth Team/reserves as the first team, we've only signed loan players and for this saturdays match have 14 fit players but that's the cut backs we've had too make due too how small our squad is now and how one or two injuries has seriously affected it.

If Swindon Have have known about there debt why on earth did they sign 13 players in Pre Season?

They'll only be ever one or two clubs in the next 10 years that will go bust, none will go Part time.

Swindon will have too do what most clubs have done when they've gotten into debt like this. PLAY THERE FRIGGIN YOUTH TEAM so it doesnt count them nothing hardly in Wages until they get a financial backer who will back them up with money too get a few more players in. :(
