My 13yr old son wants to challenge Pixar. Any suggestions on a good (cheap/free) animation software package?

lol, how do u know he's gonna challenge pixar if he doesn't already have program to use. I'd like to see work he's done already, it amazes me how younger talented kids are getting.

There should be some older Cinema4D versions you should be able to download free.

Edit:
Found it for ya, Stevie.
Download the demo of Cinema4D (you can find it at maxon.net, requires a quick registration). Then you go to this link http://maxon.net/jumps/prog/ce6_us_macaddict.html and follow the intructions (register) and you'll get a free serial number.

there's no cheap or free software for 3D animations ... and pixar use it's own software (Marionette) ... it's difficult to join pixar ... I'm 23 years old and I'm working on CG ... believe me ; it's too hard ... but he must keep workin' ... he's young ... he can make it ... for learning animation mentality ; Flash and is good ... but it isn't cheap also ... I don't want to talk about Max , Maya , ZBrush , Lightwave and other 3D animatin softwares ... they are most expensive programs ... CG is an expensive work ... you must have an good computer also ... but if you have money and you like animations ; it's the best way ...
