I'm sure we could all fill page after page up with the things that tick us off about the Fifa series...but the one biggest problem I have encountered time and time again is the player ratings and set ups.

I'm an American and here in the US Fifa has been licensed in conjunction with the MLS. It's not the only MLS out, but the Fifa series is without a doubt the best version and also the easiest to obtain. With that being said you would think that EA Sports and MLS would come to some sort of understanding that this product needs to be a good reflection of the MLS and soccer in general.

Instead year after year the MLS gets the worst possible ratings for players and the positions for each players are more often then not completely off. I know most of you on here are Europeans and probably could care less about the MLS...but damn it's soo sad to see such an appalling job done to my home league the MLS. Martin Klinger who couldn't hold my jock strap let alone score a goal is the best rated player on the Metrostars...the kid has only played 1 game in his career for the Metros. Big name players in the US get tossed out the window too... I can't understand how a product like this gets a league approval to be included in the game ... and then in return EA Sports puts out not even a half assed attempt in creating the players.

I'm very well aware that EA Sports hires a company to do players ratings for the players included in the games....but how come year in and year out these type of errors go unnoticed ? It's sad to see how such an easy little thing gets over looked. I know all I have to do is go into the creation center and fix it myself...but last time I looked EA Sports doesn't send me a pay check, so why should I bother constantly fixing their easy mistakes... don't they have people that more or less proof read these games ? Sad stuff folks....I'm getting soooo tired of EA's dropping the ball on the easiest things.

It always seem to me that they do no research whatsoever in doing player rosters and related information. It's like I can do better just off the top of my head. When u look at Championship Manager, they have a whole series of Worldwide scouts, which makes the stats and all almost perfect, whereas FIFA is entirely the opposite.....complete rubbish.

Yeah, I totally agree with both of us.

JRedknapp 11, I don't know a lot of things about the MLS but I
can tell you that the ratings in the european teams are far to reflect the reality. And I follow the European scene since 25 years or so .
It seems to me that they only know a bunch of superstars which have too high ratings in the game IMO. The rating of the other players is totally non sense.
In fact I think that they put notes for the teams, not for the players. That's why all the players in the big clubs have too high ratings ( cf Pirlo in Milan AC to take an example )
Generally speaking, the majority of the clubs of Italy,England and Spain are over rated.
At the opposite, the clubs in the rest of the world section have too bad ratings . Teams like Sparta Prag or the ones from Portugal
and Holland are as good as the big names. And I don't talk about the rosters and players positions which are messed up !
The result of this is that you can hardly play with teams from different leagues.
I personally love to edit rosters,so I don't care.
What I do, is adapting the notes from Championship Manager to fast every player in the game and then you realize that a LOT of teams are equal. And a big amount of players has an overall rating between 55 and 65.You don't see anymore these ratings of 90 ! Superstars like Zidane and co are human again .And the real forces of the players is respected. Your players won't be robots anymore .Try this method with a few teams and you will see the results. Then you will have big differences between fast and slow players, good headers ,tacklers and bad ones etc.. And if you play in World Class with your favorite gameplay you will see the difference.
And there are a bunch of regular good updates of CM that you can download so your game is always actual.

Sorry for the long post, but it's something I wanted to share for a long time, with the community.

Cheers JM

PS: I certainly don't think that Fifa 2003 will be better in this area
I just want 2 things for the upcoming game.
A BETTER & MORE REALISTIC GAMEPLAY
A VERY GOOD INGAME EDITOR
There are enough talented guys in this community for the other things.

one of the 1000's of bugs, there's no excuse for this one. Mark Viduka's long flowing hair is another idiotic blunder from EA, why do you people buy their crap?

I wish for once that FIFA dropped sales by more than a half at Christmas when compared to last year, they'd produce a 10x better product next season. And in 10 short years time, they'll have somethingo n par with ISS Pro 98 :D
