Am I the only one?

I don't know if its the game speed or the grainy pitch or the ridiculas ball physics or the cpu aggressiveness or what, but pes4 just seems like a huge step backwards from pes3. I mean it does have its perks: refs, improved cut scenes, licenses, online play, etc. But at the end of the day isn't it great gameplay that makes a sports title?

So to make a long story short: Am I the only one that finds myself playing pes4 for about 10 minutes and then switching to pes3?

I dont think you've taken enough time to play it and appreciate it. The game has just been made more realistic , like it should be. PES is for a true football expirience, sure PES3 wasnt brilliant, but PES4 has just made it more realistic IMO, much to some peoples displeasure.

I dunno. All I know is that its impossible to stage a slow building attack in pes4. I have to say I've watched my share of footy and not even the fastest pace Lique 1 match can keep up with this game. To be successful you must always be on the counterattack, and to me that's not realistic.

Perhaps its just the Chelsea fan in me. =P

I could never go back to PES3 now. The depth of strategy in PES4 is just way past PES3 IMO. The CPU AI is far better in terms of different teams plating differently and to me, it's a huge leap forward. Plus online, well... it's what we've been crying for it seems like forever. Now we got it, bit laggy but awesome.

Same here, the more I play PES4, the more I'm amazed by its depth of play and every single goal I score and every single one I concede has been an experience so intense I could never have enough of.

Currently banging away at 6* :p

You got that right. It is indeed a step back from PES3 in that regards. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly causes it, but I did notice a long time back that playing passes around in the midfield leads to nowhere.

On the other hand, I played PES3 so damm much that I possibly couldn't go back to it anymore.

Oh well, play online, save yourself from blaming the cpu.
