For the record - AOMP3 is not more morally sound than downloading as the reason they are so cheap is because they do not pay royalties properly.

They are legal in russia, but not legal to operate over here.

Whether we are allowed to download from them is still grey area.

..

TBH, they're a far better service than any other one out there, not necessarily due to prices, but because of the fact that they give you a massive choice in all the main encoding formats (Lame MP3, Musepack, FLAC etc) and don't have DRM on their files.

If iTunes offered non-drm music at their current prices, I'd actually consider buying music from them, but as it stands you are buying a defective product and may as well buy a cd from amazon.

PS hi darren and leatherhead guy :D

Paying for music to download is just.......stupid :(

I mean either buy it at a store or download it for free. But this is paying for nothing really.

Yeah, but since they don't give loyalty to the artists, they get all the money when they shouldn't have in the first place. It's like getting a pirated disc and paying the guy who sells the pirated disc. The developers don't get the money you paid for, but some guy we ripped the game of some torrents and burns them gets the money.

But allofmp3 does have a wide variety of artists it seems. Hmm, anyone interested in creating another site like allofmp3.com? I'm sure some of you guys have got enough songs to start one. :X

from what i've heard this site is legal... in Russia. lol

Actually my dad goes through a Russian mp3 site and he's a lawyer and says that from what he's read it's totally legit. I guess in Russia they divide up royalties differently. Every mp3 site collects the money and pays it into a government copyright ministry, and then they pay the artists directly instead of going through the RIAA or something like that. They can save a ton of money and it's legal.

If you get busted, don't come crawling to me with your problems, because there are going to be risks anytime you are paying 99 cents per album, but we think it's legit everywhere. Since it's the internet you aren't actually making the purchase in any country and since it's through a Russian site, it theoretically would be like you making the purchase in Russia; or like you taking a trip to Russia, buying a bunch of CD's and then taking them back home. Should be legal.

Yeah, exactly. Plus the Russian site likely won't be intimidated by a Court Order from the United States to release their records, since what they are doing is 100% legal in Russia. Limewire on the other hand could release their downloading logs any day if the RIAA really steps it up. You never know. It's a risk. Plus you won't accidentally share anything if you are downloading from a Russian site, the record of your purchase will only exist in Russia and on your hard drive. And it's hard to get a search warrant for the search of a personal hard drive without any record of illegal downloads. These Russian sites are going to blow up once everyone finds out about them. I could see ITunes incorporating itself in Russia within the next 5 or 10 years.

herregud andreas, kjøpe album, lite teit du a lolomfg2k :D

npe, this sounds lik an great service, really, cause you pay almost nothing and when you are finished downloading you know for sure that every song is in good quality annd there is no sh*t. But if $1,5 is to much for someone, LimeWire is good too.

If there's anyone here using the site to download music, I recommend downloading the allTunes program from their website. Works exactly like the iTunes Music Store, except allTunes is a bit faster actually.
