During the incident, the commentators on abc were saying that none of the match officials actually saw him headbutting Materazzi but they did see it in the replay that was shown in stadium and hence Zidane was given red card. Is that true? I mean none of the officials really see him headbutting Materazzi???

deco said once in a interview ; that he doesnt agree that players naturalized to be an a competion or money; that we must agree that alot of players are doing for this reasons; but more for having a sentimental bows to the country.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you're trying to say. Your english is confusing.

Yes, appaerntly it was the first instance of video refereeing being used for a decision...

I was listening to the game on XM and they said that the headbutt wasn't shown on replay inside the stadium... so a lot of the French supporters were upset and confused and were booing the whole time because they had no idea why Zidane all of a sudden got a red card.

I remember a moment that Zidane lost his temper in a Valencia match, three players were hardly holding him back..

Why don't we close all borders while we're at it! If someone immigrates to a country, gains citizenship, and feels as though they are a member of that society, why can't they play on the national team? Your logic is terrible.

What if I marry a woman from Germany, go over there, never renounce my citizenship, have kids born in Germany, my wife dies, I move the kids back to America, raise them as Americans, and they are citizens. You're telling me they can't play for the US National Team? That's idiotic.

Do you know that Germany's borders have been redrawn about a hundred times during the 20th century? Klose is a German name, and he is very obviously from German ancestry, not Polish. He even comes right out and says "I am not Polish". So why should he be forced to play for Poland?

sorry but your "your logic is terrible" statement is terrible..

this is a subject that things can easily be distorted.. I mean if we're talking about Zidane or Mehmet Scholl or Hakan-Murat Yakin, yep it would be fair for them to play for France or Germany or Switzerland... But WTF is Gerald Asamoah??? WTF is Deco??? Asamoah plays for Germany because it's more competitive and Deco plays for Portugal because he struggled to get a place in Brazil NT.. that's some serious bullsh*t..

Honestly, I seriously doubt Asamoah will ever leave Germany. I think he's a German citizen for the rest of his life. Sure it's opportunistic to get a citizenship perhaps expedited because he's a footballer, but I think he's genuine about his desire to be German. You don't have to lose all aspects of your other culture to assimilate and join another culture.

Regarding Deco, I really don't know much about his situation at all, so I can't really judge. I would hope that he feels some attachment to Portugal, but that may not be true. Or for that left back for Japan who's brazilian, again I don't know his situation. I know there are people very fascinated with its culture who go over to Japan and stay there forever. Sure they're always Gaijin, but in their hearts they are part of that culture. They feel Japanese (you know, when they aren't being stared at by 20000 people simultaneously).

FIFA have denied that they've used video evidence, though I doubt the fourth official saw the incident.

the only thing zidane did wrongly: he shouldn't have beat materazzi on his chest, but on his mouth! maybe with a few teeth in less materazzi would never tell the awful things he surelly told to zidane. :hit:

it's too easy to blame a man when you don't even know what was told to him or how much he loves his family (it seems that materazzi insulted zidane's mother - who is very ill - or sister).

and we know it is not materazzi's first time! and he surely did that purposely!

i am a french fan, and i am just so sad that we have lost the final, after a well-played second half and extra-time, and maybe if zidane didn't beated that tall scum-bag, maybe we could win the final on the last 10 minutes... the italian seemed to be so tired... but i just can´t blame zizou!
