Ahaha, Zidane!

I knew Marco stoner Materazzi said something extremely offensive to provoke a classy sportsman like Zidane to do something like that. Zidane may feel regretful that he may have cost France the game, but I'm sure he did what most people would do at that certain moment, and Materazzi deserved it.

Zidane is a true legend, he did something most sensible men would do. All you noobs claiming that he's an idiot to "screw up in the biggest game" can shut your traps and suffocate in your pantyhoses.

I'm french. What a sad night.
first, i wasn't able to see the 1 st period, for personnal reason. and after that, just very few occasions, one head from zidane... and ther ... another one ... ... everybody here is shocked... we all want to know what happened there. The slurs about his mother i don't know, it's possible...

Like someone said, zidane must feel horrible right now. France hasn't lost because of him. but for his last game ... a final ... rah i'm so sad... before the game end ud, i said to my friends "if france wins, and Zidane says 'he talked bad about my mother', he would be a god".

A god that do not think about rules human created, and punishes for crime. ahah i'm a bit drunk :-puke:

and lol to the Zidane fatality and Zidane Juggernault

We are second. :jap:

edit: http://rapidshare.de/files/25397119/CollectorCoupDeBouleZidane.avi.html with french commentaries, i'm going to bed right now, but you can here "Mais pourquoi? Mais POURQUOI ? mais pourquoiiiii" (but why,but why , but whyyy :D) at the end. yeah, why (:/)

Can you really call him a "classy sportsman" if he acts like that?? A "classy sportsman" plays with class ALL THE TIME. That's what makes them "classy sportsmen". What is the matter with everyone? Who cares what Materazzi said?? Is Materazzi classy? Absolutely not. He cost Italy a penalty shot and was lucky to make up for it later.

I'm sure he did what most people would do at that certain moment

In a bar maybe, but not on the biggest stage in the world in front of over a billion people watching. Do you think he's the first player ever in the history of football to look at an opponent and talk sh*t to them? Mr. Zizou, if he is indeed the greatest, the best, the 'classiest' player in the world should have left it on the field. Instead, he put himself above his team and put them at a disadvantage. France was controlling the play throughout the 2nd half and extra time. The outcome of the penalties may have been different....they may have even gotten a goal in the last minutes of extra time. He left the game, both teams played for penalties, no question. So, get over it. He lost it. End of story. Italy won...and Zidane will never get another chance.

Who isn't? If Materazzi said that it wouldn't surprise me at all. Zidane's reaction, as furious and violent as it was would have been justified, nobody has to endure that on the field. Especially now when FIFA is trying to stamp out racism, I have a feeling that if Materazzi said that then it will have pretty big repercussions. If this is true, I hope all the Italian teams are forced to play in the MLS.

It would be interesting if there were repercussions...
Maybe they'll suspend Materazzi for a few games (or months)...
While Zidane's serving his 2/3 game suspension in his retirement..

That would be ironic.. and funny..

Had he scored another goal in the 119th minute and made it 2-1, and after that rollocked Materazzi, that would have definitely sealed Zidane's place as the best ever.

such a wrong way for Zizou to end his career, yet so extremely beautiful to watch (H)

f'ck Materazzi, I hope he enjoyed every bit of the taste of his own medicine.

Maybe this was a blessing in disguise for football.

If he said something about his mother, thats one thing. But if he used some racial term, then perhaps this outlash by Zidane is just the kind of shocking public incident to aid the anti-racism campaign in football. I know players say things all the time, but race should be an isssue that is stamped out on the pitch before it can be eradicated in the stands. Hopefully, if things are true and he is fined he can be made an example of. I would love to see that elbow throwing, studs up, nut trampling, sheva kicking f*ckstain Materazzi crucified and made an example of

The_Knight was damn true with the fact that this was an awful way to end such a glittering career. Zizou can still be a great ambassador for the game, though. Maradonna is beloved now, despite coke, brawls and cheating. I think Zidane's image will recover from a nasty exit soon enough
