African football

What's your take on African football. How does it fare in terms of technical qualities, and entertainment compared to the rest of the world, especially Europe. African football was not done any justice by the defending African champions Tunisia loosing 4-0 at home to Italy. But Nigeria's latest string of successfull results against European opposition with its 2nd string team has has made me wonder, if Africans are generally more skilled naturally than Europeans at the game? Or is it all the same? Why is so much talent coming out of Africa.

French Touch
Africa have good team. Senegal, Morroco, Nigeria, Cameroun, and now Ivory Coast with Didier Drogba, Kolo Abib Touré, Bonaventure Kalou or Aruna Dindane are better and better. I hope that the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 will be great for any African team. They can, because there are a lot of good players who plays in Europe.

They always have some good teams. But those teams seem to choke or flop at the most crucial times, like Nigeria against Italy in 94 and against Denmark in 98, Senegal against Turkey in 2002 etc..

i hope Tunisia doesnt make the WC, and Ghana or Ivory Coast take their spot. They blow on the big stage.

I do not want to instigate racism, but almost all north African nations choke when it comes to the big stage. ALL. Tunisia, Morrocco, etc. When they meet big European opposition they just lay down and get raped, its a psychological thing, maybe inferiority complex. Sub Saharan African nations seem to do best against European opposition when they are well organised by a non biased (aka expatriot) coach.

i agree 100%.

And they dont embody the same kind of African style Cameroon, Nigeria and now Senegal have. Theyre a waste of an african spot. Hopefully Egypt is a diff story tho.
