African cup of Nations

Why has this tournament been completely neglected by FIFA/EA? I hope to see it included in the future. FIFA shouldn't forget a lot of African stars [ Jay-jay Okocha, George Weah, Tony Yeboah, VIERIA, too numerous to mention] have helped shape the new age of football. And if the Korean league can be included I don't see any reason why at least one African league cannot be.

The African cup of nations is one of the best tournaments in the world for me. So much talent and excitement. The list of talent to come out of The African cup of nations is endless ( Mboma, Eto'o, Weah, Okocha, Benni etc.)

They made Euro 2004, I reckon they should of made EURO 2004 and African CUP 2004 together, probably that would too much.

Also Copa America, Asia Cup (?) and another competition from south america should be added.

African or Asian teams are inferior in real life too.
Until last year there were no South American clubs either. Is a business, European clubs sell big, so they cater to that first.

People that always try to take every argument into a race thing, are quite annoying really..

i remember in FIFA 2000 there were some African Clubs but in the next FIFA games .. the disappeared
i hope they'll put some African and Asian clubs this year

But, can u miss the clear facts?????

Even if i am led to belive ur "blind" claim that European teams are better than all African teams, does that give EA the right to neglect Africa??? Asia?? of or the America's

Look, Africans, Americans and Asians buy the gamme just as much as Europeans do. I am not asking for EA to do what they do not want to, but the truth is that if EA is going to claim that thier game is a global game, then it must reflect an accurate census of the globe.

You're right but at least the Copa America has featured in past FIFAs as a bonus tournament

I am not saying they should not have African teams in the game. But EA adds teams that are going to increase their profits, if they buy the rights to a team, which means, they have to expend money, they want to make that money back with an increase in sales. Is a multinational company which is in it for the money, nothing else.. about minorities.. well.. I think you are starting to mix things around. About the difference in ratings.. I can find a lot of players that I think should have been better rated than others, without having to go into race.

Mate, if EA were racist, why didn't they put their home country - Canada - in the game each year????

About players accurancy, don't blame EA, blame researchers .

I'm also surprised there's no more African/Asian clubs but maybe they think this is not really important for the community. They added South American since there's an huge work from SA, so maybe if there's more patches and updates for Asia/Africa, there will be some clubs from there too.

I started a petition for FIFA 2006 on my forum and people are able to ask teams/leagues that are not in the game. And be sure I'll try to be listen (I'm already but I'll try to be more).

That's a dumb thing to say! Inferior in what way? Some of the best players in the world are African and thier skills are immense! Al Ahly and Zamalek of Egypt beat A.S Roma and Real Madrid in friendlys recently. These were full sqauds. Need I remind you how Cameroon battered opposition in Italia 90 [ including the champs Argentina] and outplayed the Gary Linekar led English team before losing the game to England's 12th player- the ref? What about little Senegal beating France in WC 2002? And of course England again failed to beat Nigeria in 2002 who had a great run in US 94 b4 falling to Italy in injury time. These African teams can't match the resources at the disposal of the Euro teams but they've still made thier mark on the game. If the playing fields were even Africa and South America would dominate world football!!

you are talking victories in counted games, and on friendlies, which for Madrid and Roma were just a way to make money, no more. Some of the best players in the world are African?.. well.. I guess we disagree on that. I dont think any african team could win, neither the portuguese, french, epl, la liga or calcio. African teams have come a long way, but there are not on the same level as most european teams. Thats my opinion.

Of course they're not on the same level!! Most African leagues are only semi-pro. You European teams have players making over 80 grand in a week! World's apart!! But what happens when u put an African in a European club? 8 out of 10 times he establishes himself in the first team and outshines the rest. George Weah, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele [old skool] Martins [ Inter Milan], Henri Camara [Wolves], Yakubu [ Portsmouth], Drogba [ Marseille], Jay-Jay Okocha, Samuel E'to, Benni McCarthy....the damn list goes on. All these are key players at thier respective clubs. All the leagues you mention can't do without African talent. The bloody French league basically imports Africans and some get naturalised to play for France [ Ghana's Desailly, Senegal's Vieria, and Zidane has Algerian parents, considered to be among the best in the world]. Even one of the top strikers in the Nationwide div 1 is African born, Robert Earnshaw. And you have the Nigerian players Shola Ameobi and the Ehiogu winning call ups to English youth teams. One of the finalists in the Belgian cup final, Beveren, has 10 Ivory coast players in its first 11!!!!! Portugal also steals talents from its former colonies Angola and Mozambique [Eusebio from the 60's] But progress is so slow coz Africa is very poor so these damn European teams hold on to our players when they're needed for national duty. On the other hand Euro teams never have problems getting all thier players. Good for you, the 'superior' ones, hope the thousands of talented African players you've snatched help you win more honours!! Inferior my ass. Just wait for 2010. You have no chance in the African heat!!

Thats a pretty ignorant statement. Cause then you have to say that all American players are european, all mexican are spanish, and so on.. they may come from Africa, but they were not born or raised in Africa for the most cases, so they are not considered African, you cannot rate African teams higher because of Henry.. because he plays for the French national team. You yourself admitted that african leagues are not on the same level, so you yourself already admitted that those teams are inferior.
