Him doing relatively well last season in Amsterdam.
I mean what are you basing "he's not that great" on? I'm not contesting you, just wondering. Zlatan (the member, not the player) says that he had a great season last year and didn't get much of a chance this year. What have you seen that makes you think he is not that good?

Escudé is a great signing for your team IF you use him on the right place, one thing he is not is FAST. When he played for Ajax it was difficult to get by him but if you passed him it was easy for the opponent to outrun him.
Furthermore he is a great header in set pieces (FK and corners) and he can even score goals as he scored 6 important goals for Ajax.
I am sad as well to see him go and I think there was no need for him to leave but Ajax sees this differently so that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess :boohoo:
I'm happy for Julien cause now he can play again (I hope)
Same way as I'm happy for Nourdin, he worked hard for Ajax and he will be an asset for the next team, I only hope he is not going back to NAC and score against us again like a few seasons back.
Because Pierre v Hooijdonk will be leaving NAC guys and NAC allows him to leave but only to a few Dutch teams if he wants to stay in Holland. AJAX (of course), P$V and 010 and Heerenveen are the teams he can go to.
Well we have the Hunter now so we don't need him or he can play on Pienaars place :p Heerenveen is an option since Samaras is desired by Manchester City and he is forcing a break with SC Heerenveen..

Yeah I think Van Hooijdonk's on his way to Heerenveen, even if Samaras stays(which is quite unlikely) they need someone to replace Huntelaar and Van Hooijdonk is the perfect person for that. Another option is AZ as backup for Shotagoal cause he can leave to AZ for nothing aswell.

Just read the news that Landzaat is forcing a break with AZ, he don't want to sign a new contract and wants to leave. I know that Ajax was interested a few months back. I think it would be great to see Denny back in Amsterdam where he belongs and my guess is that Galasek will leave anyway at the end of the season, he's very vague about staying with Ajax so I say buy Landzaat NOW!!

We have many talents walking around at the academy at the moment.
I disagree with you on the Landzaat deal though cause what Ajax needs is experience, someone who can bring rest into the heads of the players like Juanfran is doing. We need a type of player like Cocu for PSV and I think Landzaat is the right man for that job. Also Denny Landzaat came from the Ajax youth academy so he knows the system very well. :junior:

I'd say get some of the 90 oldies back to get a bit of expierience and balance in the team back. Someone like de Boertjes, Kluivert, Davids, Reiziger...

The guys from the 90's will return to Ajax according to van Geel but as.......scouts :o They want an active roll for them at Ajax but not as a player. de Boertjes, Witschge, Vanenburg etc will return as scouts...as for Kluivert ah well..... :boohoo:
Yes I think Landzaat would be an asset for Ajax, the way he scored twice yesterday for AZ and the calm person that he is..hell yeah I think Ajax would make a great move with signing him.

I've read today that Ajax will be buying at least two or three players in the next months till the summer, that's what van Geel told the VI.

REIZIGER?????? he is playing for the enemy so let him stay there, he is not welcome anymore in Amsterdam, fake Ajacied and traitor :boohoo:

It's not like Kluivert doesn't know how to play it anymore. I'm sure if he'll get some play time at a smaller club(like Ajax although we certainly won't need a striker) he'll slowly but certainly get back on the track of were he was in about 2000 when he was considered one of the top strikers in the world. He still is Oranje's topscorer of all time which none of the RBC youth players can say nor can they say they personally brought a club a Champions League nor can they say they brought Holland in the semi's of the EC 2000 nor can they say they were topscorer of that tournament.

On to Ajax again. Another player leaves this time it's the always in a good mood Romanian Bogdan Lobont. He goes to Fiorentina.

Who's next?

Not at all, it's time for a new start and to clean ship. Ajax is aware of that finally because the last years were simply not good enough it's as simple as that. I'm convinced that Ajax will get new good players for them as they always do so I have every faith in Martin van Geel. He is the guy to lead us back to successes and he will. Ajax needs time to grow bigger and better in the next years to come and he will build a new team around Sneijder, Stekelenburg, Huntelaar, Rosenberg, Maduro etc.
Lobont is a good keeper but Stekelenburg showed that he is the nr 1 keeper for Ajax..

WHAT AN AMAZING WIN TODAY TRULY A MIRACLE!! :o:o
We were behind till the 88th minute with 2-1 and then it happened, in two minutes time Ajax WON THE GAME with goals from Maduro and Emanuelson (golden supersub). Urby showed his brilliance once again when he came on the pitch. Bad thing is that Sneijder sustained an injury again, hamstring on the other leg, they will be making some scans tomorrow at the hospital and he could be out for 4 to 6 weeks if it's a bad injury :(
Next week the homegame vs FC Utrecht and that's always hard, let's hope Klaas-Jan scores his first goal for Ajax ;)
We're back on 4th place in the rankings behind AZ but still a long way to go. Danny Blind said today that he is counting on the play offs and that becoming champions is impossible at the moment duuuuuuuh
But an important win today is what counts and......ROSENBERG SCORED AGAIN, he is scoring almost every week now so I was right about him all along, I had every faith in this guy and he is proving to be a real asset at the moment and for the future.
Hmmmmm one thing though, Ajax played much better when Charisteas came on the pitch but there are too many strikers so he has to go, still a pity :(

Ajax will keep playing 4-3-3 for the rest of the season according to Blind and that's the Ajax way IMO.

No, going back to 4-3-3 is absolutely the way to oblivion. Hasn't Blind realised that by now? The only good period we had so far this season was when we played 4-4-2. Markus and Huntelaar up front supported by Sneijder in the back. It's so easy why doesn't Blind see that this team just is too indynamic to play 4-3-3.

Anyway, I do agree with you that Van Geel is the one to lead us back, I mean he made AZ from a relegation battler to a potential league winner. I'm sure he can do that with us again aswell.

Great news!
The injury Sneijder sustained yesterday is not as bad as they feared, he will be out for one or two weeks :)
More good news is that Juanfran has told the media that he wishes to stay with Ajax, they are not negotiating terms at the moment but he likes it in Amsterdam. He had the chance to go to England as well but he chose Ajax cause he wanted to play in red/white.
I already read some time ago in an interview with van Geel that Ajax has the intention to lift the clause in the contract and this means that they will offer him a contract. So when both parties wants this to continue by all means!!
Juanfran showed us that he is one hell of a player and we need his experience and calm nature :)

More news:

- Juanfran will definitely stay at Ajax and sign a new contract.
- Ajax wants Julian Jenner, a very talented young player from NAC Breda (wingplayer)
- Frank de Boer will be trainer for the Ajaxyouth next season and will get his coachingdegree
- Nigel de Jong is in London and is hoping to clinch a deal with Tottenham

The source is Johan Derksen and believe me this guy knows what he is talking about, has reliable sources and is one of the top footballcritics in our country. He said that Huntelaar would sign for Ajax even before it was official.

He also said once that Raffie was already sold to Man Utd, so don't believe everything he says. But if what he says is true, that would be quite cool. Juanfran is really the replacement for Maxwell, Emanuelson can focus himself on the midfield. Getting some 90 influence with De Boer. Only don't know about Jenner ey? And as for De Jong I don't want to hear anything about that money-grabbing whining bastard anymore. I hope he rots at the bench in London there and comes back kissing van Geel's feet for a new contract.

My god, De Jong said no to Spurs cause he wants high salary.

Damn who does he think he is? Ronaldinho? :|
