Advice for shots from distance?

Ive never scored from outside the box on world class. Is it a bug that you cant? Im sick of all these easy headers and finishes from the 6 yard box, the game is becoming too stereotyped. The AI can do it, so why cant I? Please help me.

i have. what i do, is of course have the player with the best shot power and shot accuracy take all free kicks and penalties. for a free kick i put the cursor on the opposite side of the goal, so that if my kicker is on the right, i shoot to the left with a spin. that usually works about 5 out of 10 times. also use the fake shot when in game to score easier from outside the 18.

somethin that works most of the time is getting the ball into the air and kickin it to goal, to do this just pull the right tumbstick(xbox) back while walkin, the player will kinda flick the ball into the air, before it falls down shoot to goal.......

does this same strategy work from ps 2 because i havent been able to do this in pro mode and i grow envious of players who can do this an i cannot

it works on ps2 as well - just perform the lift and imediately press and hold your shooting-button for a while (of course i must not go into the red area). If the ball hits the ground - you're to slow

Direction and timing practise that you'll be fine, but you can make the gameplay less ''Stereotypes'' by customizing it, it's not very hard, here's a thread by pklimos on how to customize your gameplay.

It's works good guys the computer plays alot more realistically and has shots from a long way out more often.

That looks good, but I have it on Ps2

I tried to that flicky thing, and there are little signs of improvement so far, ive hit the crossbar once so Ill keep trying and hope for the best.

make sure you have a good shooter

make sure you dont shoot hard

make sure that your shooter has a bit of space to work with

make sure you put it in a corner (a bit hard to do cause it goes wide at times... but practice mode helps!)..

make sure you score

I played a guy online who kept trying to score just like that from the center line. He didn't, but he came close a few times.

Basically, you're trying to put it on goal and catch the keeper off guard. Sometimes it works.

I will try it out, my shooter is a user created player, David Healy and hes 75 for accuracy and power. Maybe I should put it up a few if he doesnt start scoring. Ive scored one long shot with him, it was awesome, almost made me cry. Havent come close since, especially on world class.

I scored from the center circle 2 nights ago with Zidane's replacement. I hit the crossbar with him last night.
