CAFU: 'Happy to return as my father is improving'

1/10/2006
MILANELLO - Marcos Cafu spoke to Milan Channel after training and discussed his return to Milanello: 'I am very happy, I am smiling again after all that has happened to my father in Brazil. He's now out of hospital and is having treatment but at home. This is the best news of 2006 for me after 2005 closed in such a way. I followed what Milan were dong from the hospital with my dad. The team ended the year well and started the new in good form, we need to be consistent in the league and then in the cup. I am looking to get in shape, I trained today and underwent some tests, we'll see in the week how training goes.'
Cafu added: 'I don't know why some wrote about my good-bye. As I explained, I was in Brazil exclusively for my dad, San Paolo had nothing to do with it, all was needed was a phone call from me to Milan to confirm this. When the team wasn't training they needed to write something.'
A word then for Christian Vieri: 'Bobo is a great player, I didn't have a chance to say good-bye but I would like to wish him all the next for his new adventure.'

Welcome back Marcos !

From THE SUN online:

It's Hernan Cres-Go
By PAT SHEEHAN

HERNAN CRESPO will be told to pack his bags after he revealed he wants to quit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Argie striker has been a massive hit since returning from his loan spell at AC Milan at the start of the campaign.

But Crespo admitted his life off the pitch is in turmoil and he misses his friends and the lifestyle in Milan.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear he will not fight to keep any players who do not want to stay.

He said: “Anyone who isn’t happy here can leave the club.”

Crespo, 30, joined Chelsea from Inter Milan for £16.8million in 2003.

He explained: “In football terms I am delighted with the squad, with Mourinho and with the fans.

“But, on a personal level, I am suffering. I miss everything. My friends, cinema, TV and the theatre. The sporting aspect is not open to debate.

“We have already won the Community Shield, we are 13 points clear in the Premiership, we have the best manager in the world and Roman Abramovich worships me.

“However, having said all this, life isn’t all just about football and at the end of the year I would like to return.”

Its hard to tell what is fiction and what is reality with Hernan, because the anti-Chelsea sections of the media seem to have this facination with attempting to create drama with seemingly happy players. Crespo seems content every interview ive seen with him, and now that he is playing and scoring, I wouldnt see why things would be so glum. But then again, he hasnt extended his contract, and if I had to guess I'd say he would indeed be taking off at the end of the season

15 million for veron, nearly 17 for crespo, 17 for Mutu. That will have been 49 million we spent on players who wound up in Italy without a penny returned :|

(but the lawyers have Adrian sweating bullets (H))

I think having crespo would be great but with Gila and Sheva secured in the first 11 he wont be playing much.

I've just read yesterday that Marcio Amoroso is a second striker.

He was top scorer in Serie A a few seasons ago so I guess he wasnt a flop as I thought.

If he is what I read he is, he'd work well with any of Pippo, Gila or Sheva.

And Alberto Zaccheroni (sp?), the Scudetto winner with Milan in 1999, said Amoroso is second only to Ronaldinho! Haha.

You're dead Juve!! :hump: :lui:

Latest developments according to other sites :

Amoroso deal done.

He joins on a free as his contract is up.

18 months contract I think worth €1.3m.

Not really disappointed or happy, but can he actually be worst than Vieri? :(

yah, figured

He looked happier in italy on the whole, but we all know a strikers level of happiness is directly related to time and how many he is bagging.

Thankfully, those two numbers are much higher for Crespo this time around in London

the English press hate Crespo or what?
All but a few of them hate Chelsea with a passion: you have to be blind or illiterate not to see that
