Shev out for 25 days

Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko is in a race against time to be fit for the World Cup after injuring his knee.

The Ukrainian international, who will be his country’s star player at their first major tournament, limped out of the Parma victory after just eight minutes on Sunday.

The striker underwent tests on the problem this morning which confirmed ligament damage even if they ruled out the need for surgery.

The Rossoneri expect the former European Footballer of the Year to be sidelined for 25 days, giving him just under two weeks to prove his fitness before Germany 2006 kicks off.

Shevchenko’s season with Milan is thus over and there are even some whispers on Monday claiming that he’s played his last game for the club.

Shev met owner Silvio Berlusconi last night where it has been alleged that they may have discussed his own future.

Despite constantly stating that he wanted to end his career with the Rossoneri, speculation is again linking him with a move to Chelsea.

Milan will reportedly cope with his departure by buying Arsenal’s Thierry Henry and also use some of the cash from Shev’s sale to sign Chelsea stopper William Gallas and Juve ‘keeper Gigi Buffon.

Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, who impressed Milan stopper Alessandro Nesta during their recent Champions League battles, is another name linked with the San Siro club on Monday.

Milan will now start with an attacking duo of Pippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino against Roma next week.

The Rossoneri need to beat the Giallorossi and hope that Juventus lose to Reggina to win the Serie A title.

Damnit he better be ready for the World Cup :f***:

anyone notice Gilardino's style of play?

he is exactly what the Juve fans label Zlatan (who's so damn crap now :D).. A guy who helps the attack with a bit of touches here and there. He's a great partner to have in attack.

The way he sets up the ones twos. His dummies. The way he holds up the ball. And hey, he's got 16 goals as well. (Y) Next season we're gonna win it all. This year we've actually been superb. Luck's just not on our side.

Couldnt agree more. You just expect it from Gila, as opposed to Zlatan. Gilardino is labeled as a pure goalscorer, but as ppl have seen for Milan and Italy, he can have a great game and not score. I cant believe people have said hes struggled this season, when he has 17 goals, and has been a solid partner for Kaka and Sheva. And I dont if its just me, but it seems like Milans support players (seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo) always look to create for Pippo or Sheva over Gila this season. Kaka doesnt really pass to anyone tho ;)

Sheva injured, man that sucks, looks like a Gila-Pippo partnership against Roma :S good thing he'll make the WC though (Y)

gagiz: the Sheva to Chelsea rumours have been circling for like 2 seasons. it's not gonna happen :ewan:

and about Gila... well I'm not gonna comment about him. it's like he has NO style of play, he's so ****ign random (N) his touches and dummies are only successful like 3% of the time, and he has absolutely no positive influence on the rest of the team which you'd come to expect from a young gun who we paid 24M Euros for... so ya, I wasn't impressed by him at all this season. all of his 16 goals have come against mid and lower table teams and only 3 of them weren't some 5 foot tap in. hm, looks like I did comment about him... whatdya know :ewan:

edit: oh and just saw highlights. Seedorf

being linked to Gallas more and more lately and it seems he wants to come... only problem now is the fee with Chelsea. wouldn't mind him at Milan, pretty solid player, but only if we get him for a reasonable price

I read Chelsea rejected our offer of £4m haha.

Other news, HENRY is close to signing for us? Wtf? The press also however say Chelsea are gonna sign Sheva :jap:

Theres also rumours Sheva will extend to 2011 and that Carlo has to chose between Real and Milan by the end of this week.

Berlusconi: Sheva wants England!
Friday 12 May, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi has sensationally let slip that Andriy Shevchenko wants to join Chelsea.

Berlusconi made the shock admission to a child fan this morning, thus confirming whispers that the London club are lining up a bid for the Ukrainian.

A number of fans approached the former Prime Minister this morning as he prepared to enter the Palazzo Chigi building.

Amongst them was a boy who asked Berlusconi to send his regards to the former European Footballer of the Year.

That led to a quite remarkable response as Berlusconi said: “Do you know that Shevchenko wants to leave? He wants to go to England.”

Shevchenko has been continually associated with a move to Chelsea ever since the London club became the most powerful outfit on the transfer market.

Those suggestions had previously been dismissed, but recent whispers claimed that the move could actually occur.

Shevchenko met with Berlusconi on Sunday night in which it was alleged that the pair discussed his future.

Today’s developments seem to mirror that stance even if it is unclear at this stage whether Milan are ready to do business.

Any proposed deal with Chelsea could include both William Gallas and Hernan Crespo moving in the other direction.

There have also been claims that Milan could use any cash they receive from the Premiership side to net Arsenal’s Thierry Henry.

------------------------------

So if it would actually happen, would you switch to Chelsea, shev7?

:boohoo:

Breaking news: I want out, says Sheva!
Andriy Shevchenko has this evening shocked Milan by admitting he could leave the Italian giants this summer. More to follow…

:|

Wow...

You know, even I find it a pity if he leaves. Id rather keep all stars in Italy.

I think the whole controversy and scandals take a big part in an eventual transfer...

Italian football is getting ruined. :(

Damn...I just heard on the radio news, a statement by Shevchenko. he said that he cannot hide it from the Milan fans any longer, and that he intends to move to England next season. He added that contract details could not be reached between Milan and himself. He added that his decision has nothing to do with money, because he already has more money than he knows what to do with. He said he wants to move to England for private family reasons so thats what he is going to do

I'm looking for this story on the news sites. As yet there is nothing. Possibly because the statement was only 5 minutes ago.

I think the move has a lot to do with the corruption scandals in Italy. Quite frankly, i think the man is deluded.

But ******* Chelsea?
