"For 50 years, Real Madrid were the greatest club in the world but the new management is throwing all that away and not honouring their history. Milan declares war on Real Madrid and will do everything it can to make the new management's life impossible. Kaka is not leaving and never to Madrid, with the current management, we will not enter into any type of negotiation"
-Adriano Galliani
(ok, first lets ignore its Galliani, Mr Calciopoli )
But my main point is that this new president of Real is unsettling about each and every star player of various clubs.
Calderon first target was Kaká. Which he promised to get before winning the elections. IMO, this was the reason he won, undoubtedly.
He then continued to publicly mention Cesc Fabregas and Arjen Robben. Apparently he invited Cesc's agent/s for dinner to talk about him. Whilst Robben's father/agent denied anything was promised.
Obviously, this action caused Chelsea to get angry and threatened to report to FIFA.
The next step Calderon did was to unsettle Xabi Alonso of Liverpool. Xabi, has straight denied he is interested in Real.
Real fans, dont take this personally but dont you think these tactics are tarnishing the club?
Galliani himself said this was not an attack on Real Madrid, The Club, but on Real Madrid, The Management aka Calderon.
Also, as we know, big clubs tend to have good relationships with each other when it comes to transfers. Example, Milan and Chelsea would not target the same player etc like that. Gentlemans agreements are common all over the football world.
Would it affect Real in any way by them not having any agreements with other big name clubs?
Oh and I just read, Real officially paraded Cannavaro, even if his transfer is not official yet Juve are reportedly fuming.
Calderon's/Real's enemies :
Milan
Chelsea
Arsenal
Liverpool
Manchester United (not entirely his fault)
Juve?
