About to pre-order WE9 -- Questions

I'm about to pre-order the game, but before I did, I was hoping you guys could help with with a couple of questions. Mainly, should I get it for PS2 or XBox?

I don't have a preference for one system over the other, but I was wondering if there's any specific issues with either version of the game? Is either one smoother or more polished than the other?

Also, which version generally has the most support for downloading updated option files when released?

How about the option file issue? I have an X-Port for PS2 and Action Replay for XBox. After the game is released, which do you think will see the most fastest option files popping up for download?

(I know we can't predict the future, but I was just hoping that some of you guys can make an educated guess based on the past couple of years.)

x-box no good for PES5/WE9!!! gamepads are not adapted for it!! not R2 and L2! The best is on PC!!! :ewan: (1280x1024 with all details 1,1,1,1,1 of lod mixer--HD READY!!!-- :hump: )

I played some times on x-box and the gameplay is ridicoulous less the confortable use of R2 and L2 for many combo during dribbling and the control of the ball, and you can't use them for balance attack and defense, the two buttons black and white are :-puke:

Well, it obviously depends on what type of controller you have on hte PC!

Given you can reconfigure the keys how you want them, the XBox controller is fine. Besides, I have a 360 now so I'm hoping the XBox version is quickly compatable because the 360 controller is the most comfortable controller on earth.

It is in fact coming out on PC right? I haven't seen any ETAs on GameStop or other similar sites. I'm definitely not getting it for PS2-too slow!

Agree with Wolf on the first post but personally, I like the PS2 controlls better.
I have both an Xbox and a PS2 and there aint nothing better than the Dual Shock.

Back to topic - don't preorder!!!!! They'll be plenty of copies in stores at launch. No need to make EB/Gamstop richer. :)

Microsoft got wise with the 360 and got rid of the stupid "black" and "white" buttons, replacing them with dual shoulder buttons/triggers. I wonder who designed a controller like that first... ;) Sony with the dual shock, of course!

Having said that I'm getting it for the Xbox anyway. Tired of swapping out memory cards all the time, and load times are much faster on the Xbox for when you want to get that trade deal just right :)

And preordering doesn't cost any more than buying on launch day. You just pay a deposit up front that goes toward the purchase of the game. Man, it can't come out soon enough!

I didn't really think about the controller differences... hmm... what exactly did/does the black and white buttons do again? They pretty important? :)


Normally I don't do the preorder thing. But I live in a very small area, so unless Wal-Mart gets it on launch day (unlikely) I'll have to order from the net anyways, or drive a couple of hours to *gasp* EB/Gamestop. So I was gonna go ahead and pre-order so it'll ship asap.

does anyone know if the 2 month trial thing still works? if yes, can i use the same card for new account and does anyone have a code i can borrow?

Jumbo, I was supposed to get one month free with the 360 but I just went ahead and signed up to Gold membership online. Is there a code somewhere on one of the manuals or something that came with the 360 I should look for? If so, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I play with Thrustmaster Dual power 3 and with the X-box 360 controller
with modified drivers that works fine with PES5 pc...

and i can secure you that the most confortable is the thrustmaster

yes much important! If you dont know that, you are not surely a good player and a deep epicure of WE/PES series... :rolleyes:
They are used for others many combo (combo with L1 and R1 buttons), for a better control of the ball during dribbling,for the supercancel combo, for elongate the ball during a spring and for push your opponent, (and also for change the attack/defensive propension of your team). You cant do this easily with BLACK AND WHITE buttons, cause their bad position respect the L1 and R1 buttons...
Xbox controller dont'have L2 and R2 button exactly at the bottom of L1 and R1 buttons, but only two little buttons (black and white), that are not good for the same purpose...
WE/PES be born on ps2 and the X-Box/PC versions are directs porting of this; so if you want to play good you must to have a gamepad with the exact number of buttons and the same position of these, as in the PS2 gamepad, and the X-box controller can't do it...

Im not a big soccer fan but I like the game, is it really worth getting this for PC if I already have pes5, any big differences Ill notice in animations or gameplay?

Wolf if you had just continued to apply for the xbox 360 silver membership, you then would have been offered the gold trial membership automatically :)

i found a free trial code in my halo2 dvd case. if it's not valid, hopefully they'll include one with WE9 like they do with all Live games. Thx Wolf!

WE9 pc will be online exactly as PES5 pc is online...

WE9 will be better optimized respect PES5 pc, and the gameplay will be more accurate...It happens each year between PES in europe and WE in America...

Thats true Energia,
But where can you purchase World soccer Winning eleven 9 for the PC, I am having trouble locating an online retailer that will ship to the UK!!

EBgames do NOT ship to UK anymore...neither do Walmart or Amazon USA,
Gamestop have not even got it up for sale neither do Game or Play :nape:
Got any retailers that sell it...Please...thx in advance. :)
