About 2 seconds after closing WE7I my system freezes.

try closing it by Alt+F4
I know it shouldn't be that but maybe it's some solution (I always turn off my PES3/WE7:I in this way, much faster)

Doesn't work.. I've tried it that way, Mayor, and it didn't work using Alt+Ctrl+Del either...

try hitting alt-enter to make the game windowed and then hit the X. My system used to freeze with PES3 when trying to exit but i found doing this could get me back to the windows desktop.

I had that problem with pro evo on windows 98, now i got xp its fine but I used to alt+tab out and restart my computer. I guessed it was better than it crashing every time i wanted to exit?!

I also have Win 98, so that could be my problem.

I'll try the suggestions (Alt-F4 doesn't work, as mentioned).
