here in texas a person in jail or a convicted fellon cant vote for 4 years after they were charged with the fellony, which means that, if a person is in jail they cant vote and when they get out they have to wait at least 4 years to be an eligible citizen, and be able to vote

how do i know this???????????

u figure it out :D (H)

Yes, you lose your right to vote. However, this was actually a huge controversy during the 2000 Presidential Election. Apparantly most states have certain ways you can regain your rights to vote after a certain amount of time or doing a few things. But Florida is actually not a state that does that or changed it up before elections and scrubbed a bunch of legitimate voters from who came from other states (who were felons at one point, but gained their right to vote back from those states). Very confusing but very interesting.

I think in most cases, if you are convicted of a Felony crime, you lose your right to vote. Misdemeanors are a different story. The whole problem with trying to find the answer to your question is that each State has it's own laws, so it is different from state to state.

But after you are convicted and serve your term most states allow you to regain your voting rights.

Nothing, those statistics just demonstrate that only 1/4 convicts would most likely vote.

not necessarily, just cuz they can read doesnt mean they're gonna vote.
