A problem - Can someone help?

I have a slight problem with running FIFA 2002 on my computer. Almost everything runs smoothly but whenever I change the starting lineup of any team and try to return to the previous screen, the game crashes. Does anyone here know what is going on and how I might be able to solve this problem?

I don't think my processor speed is a factor in this, since it is less than 2 Ghz.

My computer specs:

Pentium 4M 1.7 Ghz
256 MB RAM
32 MB Graphics Card
Window XP Home

My computer is a laptop though. I think this may be a factor as sometimes EA games don't work properly on laptops.
