Apparently they caused major trouble at Atletico Madrid too. Perhaps UEFA should fine them the paltry sum of 30,000 euros. That'll teach them!

Platini? He doesn't care about Marseille! We're still waitin' for a declaration about Santos Mirasierra, this fan kept in jail for 2 months!

UEFA sanctions against Atletico were not Platini sanctions, you have to understand that. French teams are not promoted by Platini, and I guess you'll see it with this lighter..

My stabby-jabby at a traducion:

What happens in France when a citizen attacks a policeman? I'd like to know if this is not a violent crime in France. Let's stop this cheap patriotism so that the french can reply to this. That monsieur was detained for aggression against the authorities. The judge whether or not that guy is guilty of the charges for which he's been put behind bars. And the French should be more respectful of justice, but it seems to me, someone who isn't like that, the eaxmple of Platini, he has two ways to measure, since one provocational incident by the "inchas" French in two different matches had actually two different forms. Bravo Platini, always so valiant and a great example of justice.

And what happens when a citizen is attacked by a policeman?? Spanish police used violence at first! Did OM fans have to stay quiet and accept to be injured? No, it was more self-defence! Now they found a scapegoat to legitimate their violence! Santos is a victim, not a guilty man..

Did you follow his trial? Policemen did not agree on what happened this night! Santos pushed a policeman, yeah, but he was protecting a woman who was on the floor! Santos is not a coward, he has to be sorry of that.. Santos will spend 3 ½ years in jail! Do you understand that? Did he kill somebody? Did he injure a policeman? Definitely not!

In France? Last week, during Nantes-Le Havre, supporters fought with police! A guy have been arrested and he'll spend 3... MONTHS in jail!
And did you remember what happened during WC 1998 in France? German hooligans hit a policeman, Daniel Nivel, who spend 6 weeks in coma! One of these hooligans stayed 5 years in jail..

Marseille fans are now considered as violent hooligans by Europe, which is totaly wrong. Ultras went all around Europe without any problem, they spend most of their time supporting l'OM without violence!

I'm not using "patrioterismo barato", I'm denouncing injustice.

The thing that was worrying about all this (and it was well put forward by the media) is that this could have happened to any one of us. Anyone who's ever been to a game.

Good news for him today though.

Yeah don't worry Arnau, I've nothing against you, but I'm sad to see how Santos and a fortiori OM ultras are considered in Spain, in Europe. Santos is not a murderer, I know he used violence but it was self-defence against cops with cudgels, shields and helmets. I guess I would have the same reaction than him in this kind of situation.

Then I can't deny these thrown chairs on cops, just a few idiots among 1,000 persons. I know Marseille Ultras, and I can say they are not hooligans. Thousand of supporters, men, women, children, each week on the road in France and in Europe. Marseille is a multi-ethnical city, where our team, l'OM, is an institution as important as our own family! Everybody here supports l'OM, and Santos is one of them. He is a Ultra leader who can organize with his group some charity events, far far away from this violent image they want to give him.

Anyway, Santos is free for 2 months, he'll spend this festive season in Marseille, with his family. I salute the Spanish justice decision, releasing Santos just before OM-Atletico game!

Now I hope the second verdict will be more lenient! He does not deserved to stay in jail..

The title of this topic still makes me smile every time I see it by the way. Sounds like the title of a dissertation.

Arnau has to be one of the most annoying posters in the Soccer forum. It's one thing to be unintelligible, another to be an idiot and another to be annoying ultra, but to be all 3? It's head to head with FC Bayern paolo.
