Congratulations Melbourne. By far the better team, definitely deserving of champions for the season they've had. It was really disappointing to see Adelaide just lie down and cop a raping like that.... they can complain about refereeing all they want (and FWIW both yellows were soft, the fourth goal was offside and there was nothing wrong with Adelaide's disallowed goal) but they just gave up at 30 minutes and TBH as a supporter of football in Australia it was embarassing.

The lack of central midfielders at Adelaide. Simple. Since he's come over I'm not sure he's done anything but cop fouls. And it's a shame that they have to start him, and Aloisi who's also a total waste of space, because it really lets down some really really good younger players they have in Burns (not a left winger, Djite (should have started), Spagnuolo and Owens (not so young, and a joke playing him in defence).

Diego Walsh didn't have a great game today, but when Aloisi went off it made it very hard for him.

He had a good game two weeks ago in front of 47,000.

Oh, and there was no pitch invasion....

Adelaide didn't have a lot of luck today, but Melbourne were well and truly the best side. Adelaide will no doubt get rid of a few of their older guys now, while Melbourne will need to try and hold on to a few of their players as I'm sure there'll be interest in some players from Europe. They are definately in a good position to become a very big club though, an average crowd of 32,000 for a season would be respectable in any league.

Let's hope the Victory fans don't get the feeling that they've "done it all" now and stop coming to games.

Can't wait to see how United goes in the Asian Champions league, I reckon that if they can get over this result they'll do okay.

Why did they even play the Grand Final? Melbourne Victory outclassed Adelaide United in every aspect of the game. The one question United supporters should be asking is whether or not their boys even tried. In last year's GF, at least the Mariners showed some effort and were unlucky in losing by the only goal.

I can't remember seeing a more one-sided grand final in any other competition, in a way it reflects Melbourne's dominance this season, you gotta admire how they've played even if you're not a fan. As for Adelaide, not only have they perfected the art of choking but they're also right up there when it comes to being bitter losers, you just got hammered 6-nil and you still try to blame the loss on the refereeing and the other team 'playing dirty', all I gotta say is it couldn't have happened to a better team.

And WTF is Kristian Sarkies thinking going up to kiss that twat John Howard when there's a perfectly fine looking chick standing right there.

Maybe he's a member of the Liberals.

As for myself, I would've landed a left hook on the PM. Sure, his security detail would then tackle me to the ground, but it'd bloody worth it.
