Hello everybody... I am from america who adures soccer, mainly european and south american because the mls is worst than watching chess (no offense to any chess fans.) Because of my location I have never been able to play anything other than fifa and now that I have a good PC I ordered PES3. I have heard nothing but awesome reviews for Konami's latest installment. The features seem great, aka the edit mode and the gamplay as I heard is phenominal! As you european's say, "It's a great footy game" so I am pumped about playing it. The licensing issue doesn't concern me that much because I heard that you were able to purchase a cd that changes all the player's names and team names to reality... where could I get something like that?
It's a pleasure to be in a site with a bunch of wise footballers who know which footy is the best. I'll look forward to future conversations with all!

I'm SURE someone will come out with a patch for the names and teams, and im a fellow fifa convert too. Now i know why all these PES fans were quick to call fifa "rubbish".

Welcome mate!

Well, welcome to the board. I'm south american and we would say something like "es un juegazo de futbol!" to describe PES3. Until very recently I only played FIFA too but now I'm addicted to PES3. About the CDs you've mentioned I really don't have much ideas.... however I am aware that the community here comes up with solutions for most of the cons in the game (licensing matters most of the times.... getting names right, correct uniforms, etc). I do hope you enjoy this board as much as I do...

....and thanks for saying european and south american football are better than the MLS.........because THEY ARE!!!!

Hope to be hearing from you around!

O I forgot to ask since I am new to the PES series experience... i know that most club teams have fake names with the exception of a few italian teams, does that mean the player names are fake too or are they real as you purchase the game (without editing.) I have been checking out some screenies and they all seem to have the real names.

Thanks for the welcoming responses guys... You are right Luis, south american athletes do make many of our european super clubs including the capitano of my fav club, INTER! Luis you seem like a nice guy so I think I will create Boca and River in your honor, haa (I really probably will.)
It's not that fifa is horrible shadow, it's just that I am tired of only having one option to play. It sometimes feels as if EA have no clue when it comes to soccer as well. I will be watching my heart raise because I will probably recieve the copy a couple of weeks after my euro pisanos because I live in the big apple.
Thanks again guys.

You see shadow, what I am concerned with is that we need a big named player to come to the states and "rev up" soccer here, but then comes the money issue! Also our american phenoms mostly play soccer outside the country as there's also another youngster that is about 14 or 15 years old (forgot his name) that will probably do the same... hopefully not. It's a shame, a country filled with talent at most sports can't compete in the number 1 sport in the world, with the exception being of course the US in korea. Hopefully that's a start and not a "one night stand!"

Freddy Adu is the guy your talkin bout, and yeah he's already considering many european teams, including man united which has offered him a spot on their youth team. I hope he stays with MLS and helps make this a quality league. Overseas is where the money is at the moment, and tha'ts because in the U.S. this is our 4th sport instead of our first.

Think those patches and fixes for PC version of PES3 will most likely be freely downloadable from the net and easy to install, no worries....be happy.

Well, thank you Moratti1.... I'll be most pleased to have 2 of the most important south american teams in my list.... I've always wondered why EA never included those teams.

Now, I'm peruvian, so if you REALLY want to see me happy you could make Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal or Cienciano (which, by the way, is about to make it to the semi-finals in the Nissan cup this next thursday, once they completely destroy Santos of Brazil at above 3500 metres above sea level!).

Anyway, I don't thinkthe MLS sucks.... well at least not that much, of course there are worse leagues here and there.... It just surprises people that being the US (which has rendered pretty much the champion atheletes in many other sports) it lacks the quality the NBA, NHL, MLB and others have got! By they way, saying this I think they should stick to the FIFA rules..... and I do have to admit that I realy liked the US team performance in the last world cup as well.

Anyway, again, welcome to the board and I'll be seeing you around!

Interista: First welcome, yup its a great forum...full of football nuts playing the best recreation of the sport :D

The update disk you've heard about is only for the PS2 version..I think it just updates your option file to contain all the correct names.
But yeah full updates(kits, names, stadiums, chants etc etc) will be made freely downloadable by the editing gurus...while licensing isnt the most important thing it does add to the atmosphere.
