45mins per game rule for int.

If a manager sets a player to play only 45mins in an international friendly, is this enforced or is it advisory? Because i set 2 players on 45mins per game for int. friendlies, and they played more than that and nothing happened. They were just allowed to keep playing and nothing happened after the match either  (:/)

Yeah, I always give my first team players on half time instructions (they won't get really tired and won't complain that I withdrew them from the squad) but not always they listen, mostly they let him play only 45 minutes though

yeah, i did it with Le Tallec

you DO withdraw them but if you do it too often the press will get on your back aswell as the FA and your stats will go down a lot.

Even after i did it once Le Tallec was unhappy with me.

Only do it if you REALLY need to.

Yeah but if your players aren't going to listen to you as a manager they don't have the right attitude i have withdrawn two players from under 21's Steve Sidwell and Nicky Shorey and no compliants, those are the players you need.(H)

yeah good point, if you have someone who you just KNOW has proffesionalism 20 and a decent track record, you can not let him go.

If he doesnt get unhappy then its pretty much the best indicator you can get of someone who is a hard worker.

Football Manager 2005 will build on this existing feature by taking it a few steps further with regards to manager-to-manager relationships.

For example, if you were a national manager and ignored a club managers request to play the player for only 45-minutes, this could potentially damage your relationship with that manager, and create a spate of bad publicity that's splashed about in the media. All of this could potentially effect the way you are perceived by the fans and board of the nation.

If you repeatedly ignore a club managers requests he might begin to withdraw his player from the national squad (which could even lead to problems between the club manager and player). Or if you look at it the other way around, the player might come out and suggest you are damaging his chances at international level and in extreme cases, request a transfer and become very unhappy.

I withdraw my important players when I need them, while at real madrid I would often times withdraw all my important players, not one of them became unhappy, but these were not youngsters, they were Totti, Raul, Zidane, etc. So im guessing it would not have the same effect.
