Hoping for the USA. To be honest I don't think Mexico will ever host another World Cup. ****ty infrastructure, ****ty weather, and ****ty nation. Worse than South Africa.

Of all the Asian bids, Australia is the best one. I think it'll be a two horse race between them and the US.

Faro and Braga were rejected and the likes of Badajoz and Santander are amongst 21 potential sites. They're not going to have nearly that many if we win the bid. I would like the final list to be something like:
Madrid - Bernabeu
Barcelona - Camp Nou
Sevilla - La Cartuja
Valencia - Mestalla
San Sebastian - Anoeta
A Coruña - Riazor
Porto - Dragao
Lisbon - Jose Alvalade

I think that would be fair and would cover lots of great vacation areas.

what aspect of Qatar are you trying to mock when comparing them to the other two? that all these are sh!tty footballing nations? or something else?

if you have thought of it, don't you think everyone involved in the bidding process (the Qatari govt, corporate backers of the bid, FIFA) would have thought of it too? or at least would have been asked of it by the myriad journalists and critics?

Why Qatar ?
I think they are not qualified enough to host it.
1. Very high temperature during world cup 40+c
2. Very weak national team
3. Small population .. must expect many empty seats
4. Not enough stadiums

1. they have addressed the point through viable cooling technology, to maintain pitch-level temperature at 25-27 celcius

2. yup, it is a concern

3. I think they are hoping to attract heavy foreign interest and therefore influx

4. they would have had to have met the stadia number requirement in order to have even submitted the bid (including new stadia yet to be built), so this is a non-issue

I'm not defending Qatar because I am from there or want them to win ... I just prefer misinformation/ignorance not to be the basis of analysis and/or discussion for any subject, including this one ...

What joke, as always. It was a problem back then, and they said it would be resolved. Now they want to move it to Dcember? Yeah, like that won't affect all the european leagues in any way. Maybe another big bag of cash from Qatar will help them ease their pain.

Stop complaining. World cup in the summer is disruptive for some leagues. If they can cope with it, why can't European teams? It is only going to be for one season out of the whole century anyway. Big deal.

Actually it would affect at least 3. Restructuring the league system because a ckuntry made a bid on false pretenses is stupid IMO. Give it to.someone else and be done with it.
