You can actually kick sweet bananas with one, they get much more bend than an afl footy
Drop kick =/= drop punt

Drop kick hits the ground and is a half volley essentially.

American football balls are great for punting, especially a torpedo

I don't know, but you can kick it through the uprights for a field goal. Doug Flutie did one several years ago for an extra point and ESPN went crazy.

In the US (and Mexico), no. If it crossed the line of scrimmage the ball would be considered downed and the other team would inherit possession.

In Canada, kind of. The kicker, or anyone behind him at the time of the kick, can advance the ball.

Canada maintains a lot of rugby's kicking rules, the US did away with a lot of them but has actually retained a few that only football junkies really know. The one Shifty mentioned, for instance, and the fair catch kick.

I didn't know an NFL match could get going so fast. Dallas have run like 3 plays, and have already gotten a TD.

I get that, I just never thought an opening drive could catch the opposition so completely out of their depth. Dallas are just destroying Atlanta with the running game and even Brandon Weeden is looking calm and collected.

The Cowboys have a really good offensive line.
Best in the league.

Vikings are absolutely slaughtering the Chargers...they just took a 91-yard interception to the house.

Chargers injuries talking their toll.

Lockett ia pretyy damn electric. I wondered why Seattle didn't take a lineman with their first pick but it looks like the scouting staff did a good job.

Oh ok. Definitely was when I was referring to how hard they would be to drop kick. The pointed end would make it much harder. Just punting them seems easier than a rugby ball, about on par with an AFL ball

49ers managed to look out of their depth the whole match :(

At least Hayne got in one awesome punt return
