Well he may not be the player of the tournament...

But I see why Arnau picked him. He is the best player in the world atm, he and his team didn't have the best tournament, but I'd say he is still by far the best player in the game right now.

Arnau picked him because he's a Barcelona fan..

The Von Trapps
very surprised at Robben making into as many teams of the tournament ... he's played well, but he's hardly set the tournament alight ... I say this especially because Dirk Kuyt, who I have always been critical of due to his lack of skill, has been miles more important than Robben at this World Cup ... I realize that Arjen may well go and score a ridic goal on Sunday (I hope he does) and take the glory moment on merit, but so far, Kuyt comfortably outqualifies Robben for the team of the tournament ...

and, for all those voting the Dutch as the best supporters, I hope people haven't been duped by the very orange seats at Soccer City stadium ...

Goals are overrated, people its voting Puyol over Piqué just because he score a goal against Germany while Piqué its being one of most important players for Spain in terms of playmaking with his pinpoint passes and his elegancy with the ball, definitely Piquenbauer.

Exceptionally i have to agree with you, Pique is the by far best defender in this tournament. Impressed me already in the Barca-games i watched. Hes complete. He can get better than Puyol ever was.
P.S. Send him to Bayern, you can have Demichelis:innocent_smile_1:

Senior Squad
Forlan deserves a shout. He has been outstanding. In all honestly, it will be between sneijder villa and forlan. Sneijder hasnt really had a great WC..he scored a few lacklustre/dodgy goals but apart from that nothin outstanding. a toss up between villa and forlan for me.

WHAT THE ****!?!? THOMAS MULLER ANYONE!?!? Surely he deserves to be there a lot more than Robben. 5 goals, 3 assists, and the key to Germany's playing style isn't enough!? **** you FIFA.

I've been holding my tongue on this because let's be honest, in the last 10 months I've become a massive Robben fanboy, but he has NOT had a great tournament. First, he's played 3.5 games so far; that should take him out of the running immediately unless he has been so spectacular that he can make up for the lack of games. He has not. He doesn't deserve to be on the Best XI, he doesn't deserve to be on FIFA's Team of the Tournament, and he sure as **** doesn't deserve to be on the Golden Ball Finalist list.

Gyan, Messi, and Iniesta don't deserve to be there either, and Ozil is questionable.

I think they might've deliberately put Muller out of this category because he's the favorite to win the young player award.
I also agree that Iniesta and Messi shouldn't be on the list and I feel they've been overrated in this tournament due to their top class performances in their club. Iniesta might be debatable but Messi wasn't even the best player on Argentina let alone to make it to the top 10. I'm not saying they had crap tournaments but I can think of at least 10 other players that had an even better tournament from which only some have made the list.
I think that Forlan, Villa, Schweinsteiger and Sneijder are the most serious contenders for the award.
For the young player award, it's between Ozil and Muller.

Who did better than Messi in Argentina out of curiosity?

In my opinion he carried a rather weak overall Argentinian team and when he wasn't a factor, they got killed.
