Did you know that Rhode Island is in the top 4 states in the country in depression rates? I felt depressed just driving through it to get to Massachussets.

On the other hand, Rhode Island has one of the lowest suicide rates in the country, which leads me to believe that its residents are just mopers and whiners.

We need to do something to cheer Avalanche up. If everyone chips in, I'm willing to drive down to Bridgeport to pick up some hookers and drive them to West Warwick. Maybe some blow, too.

Rough cost estimate:

3 hookers = $600
10 grams of coke = $500
gas = (218.3 miles round trip/30 mpg highway) x $1.60 per gallon = $11.64

Total cost = $1,111.64

If every SG member chips in that's only 2 cents per person.

2008 was a pretty good, if stressful year for me. I got admitted into one of my top picks for grad school with a solid financial aid package. I had a great summer with my friends in Bulgaria, and a challenging but ultimately successful first semester at UIUC. I also found out that the girl that I'm quite possibly in love with is going to university in England (as opposed to Bulgaria), making for a slightly less utterly implausible potential long-distance relationship.

So, on the balance, I can't complain.
