2 WE7 US questions

1) How do you defend set pieces and corners. I'm in my first year of Master League and most goals scored against me come off corners. I s it because my defenders are that bad at marking and heading, or is there something to heading (button presses) that I am not doing.

2) Most negotiations break down on me. I am only trying to acquire low value players this year and have only been able to sign 2 guys. Suzuki from Japan (great goalscorer for me) and Paulinho Santos. Both great acquisitions so far, but I was looking at a couple of Korean guys and even if I double the trade points and salary they all say no. I get the same with Pennant from England. Is there a formula for success in negotiations?

What is the time table for creating a better team. Should I be able to draft in top players in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years?

Any help is appreciated.....

ok,

1. first, keep pressing the shoot button for your players to head it, also try to move em where the ball is going (while its on the air)...and u could try making your keeper jump for it...

2. The best way to acquire players is by "trading" them, usually the computer clubs refuse to transfer because they need that player so if u offer them one of your players they'll not only accept the transfer but also u'll pay only the difference.

To help u out here are sum of my thoughts, experiences and advice:

1. When i first started, i had similar if not the same problems as ur having. I was conceding goals from left and rite corners. I didnt know how to defend correctly. BUt here is one thing that works out. When ur opponents are taking a corner, try to force them to pass instead of crossing it. Try to bring ur player off a bit of their nearest attacker to the corner kick. If they do pass to him, u would have a better chance of taking him down or stealing the ball n claering it away from defense. If they do decide to cross it, try bringing in another one of your defenders to help pressure the attacking target by pressing the square button along with the circle or x to have ur cursored defender clear the ball away.

2. In the options screen you can adjust the CPU transfer levels and etc. You can play in second division with a few of ur default ML team but oncein 1st division u should start obliviate ur team of those defaultees. U should acquire summ better than average players, for example, Donovan (USA), Seol Ki Hyeon (S. Kor), Forlan (Uruquay), etc etc.
ATM, im in my 10th season with a squad of "galaticos"...its better than wat madrid has(no beckham, although i have nothing against him in fact he's one of my favorite players , but he has been too publicized n so the yolks on him n the rest of the publicized world) ...anyways i am fully able to play at 5* with challenges liek a real live game. Thank you! ...n UR WELCOME!

To defend corners press R2 when they cross the ball. It allows you to take control of your defender. Then try to push him against the player of the opposit team who's going to header the ball. It works great but it is hard to master. It took me a couple of seasons till I learned to do it properly. (In the beginning I usually moved my defender away instead leaving a clear shot on the goal.) But again, when you learn it you'll be able to defend majority of corners even on 5*.

If you have a REALLY good goalie with good Jump. About 90% of the time you can intercept corners by holding down R1. I do it all the time. Of course if u see the ball is too far away to get than dont go for it.(H)
