I never said i was impressed by the game. Do i have to explain everything? I was only implying that i was impressed by the scoreline and by Welbeck who managed to score two goals plus Cleverley scoring. That's it.

A 3-0 win could have been from a bad performance or from fluke goals. In fact Villa's defense was pretty bad. 2 goals came directly from balls that they gave away. That being said, encouraging performance by the boys.

Help?

Why do you never watch games chygry?

But always comments on the games (H)

We have a "relatively" easy run in this Christmas period. Our best chance for CL spot is to cut the deficit to the top 4 by mid-January and then get a quality midfielder that can complement/substitute Carrick for the second half of the season. Its very important that we do something in January.

Looking at it, despite the league standing, I'm very surprised that a young talent midfielder would chose any other EPL team instead of ours. I'm 90% certain that we are just one solid midfielder away from being a top 3 team. Which other EPL team offers almost guaranteed starting spot in a team with a solid back line and Rooney and RvP running onto your passes?

How do you make that out? We had Real Madrid last year and have otherwise come up against Marseille, AC Milan, Inter in the second Round in recent years. These are by no means the strongest opponents you'll find but more of a testament that we usually top our group and are then seeded. Lille in '07 was probably the last time we got the weakest team from the other pot.

Because of your easy groups most years

Again something that can happen when you're in the first pot.
And I wouldn't call this year's group easy. Not particularly difficult but probably around average.
We've avoided bigger unseeded teams (such as Juve, Dortmund...). I'll give you that, but I'm not sure you'll find that big of a difference in the last 6-7 years compared with other teams that are usually seeded in the level of their group stage opponents.

Why is everybody crying because we got Olimpiakos? The reason why we got a more inferior team is because we ended first in our group, unlike Man City and Arsenal. Also, Olimpiakos qualified to the next round because they are good enough. Don't look down on them.

Most of our goals from our last 2 games come from the wings. I think 4 out of the 5. Either direct goals from the wings or from crosses. Against Villa, 2 goals came from the right wing (Valencia and Rafael crosses) and today both goals came from the left wing. Moyes is starting to find a way to score goals and hopefully this continues. Playing Kagawa just behind Rooney has never worked and is never going to work. That is just not suited to the EPL unless you have a goalscoring attacking midfielder.

Great to see Fletcher play again. He looked well composed and very confident. You wouldn't know he was out for almost 2 years. He is 29 years old and age is catching on him but he is younger than Carrick and probably has 3-4 years at least left in him. Its only a matter of time before he is back in our starting lineup again, especially given our lack of quality in that area. The good thing about him is that he wasn't on the sidelines because of a long-term injury like Brazilian Ronaldo or Hargreaves that would definitely have a bigger impact than a bowel condition.

Cleverley was decent today. Much better than in previous weeks for sure. I thought he did pretty well against Aston Villa as well with 94% passing rate and a goal. Cleverley-Flether midfield could save our season (by qualifying for UCL) IF they can play consistently well together.

I think Phil Jones wasn't bad at all tonight too. Hope he keeps up his performance and I hope Rooney's injury talks aren't serious business.

Odd move to bring on Buttner. Giving Fletcher some playing time would have made more sense. Or remove Valencia who has been terrible today. Fabio should be second choice LB, not Buttner.

Decent to good game. We are hitting good form at a crucial moment. Rooney playing AMF is what is making a difference. He is the only one who can play there in our team. Not Kagawa.
