Fabregas is out for 4 months.

-------X-------

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted he could now make a move for new players in the January transfer window.

Wenger: It is more likely but we also have internal solutions and we are not desperate," said Wenger.

"But we also have a small squad so we have to be realistic."

You guys should go after Arshavin. That would be sexy transfer.

They already are. But I wouldn't expect him to shine until the next season, I think they're only just finishing their campaign in Russia, so if he comes to England, he'd be playing a season and a half non-stop, with the Euro in the middle.

With Fabregas out now I'd like to see Diaby tried in the Viera role, so he would be a true CM, box to box, attacking and defending. So on paper he'd take Fabregas' spot although he'd have a different role. I don't think anybody has enough ability to step in and play like Fabregas. I think Denilson would be the closest we have to that kind of player, but I just don't think he's good enough. So I think our midfield should look like:
Denilson/Song
Eboue Diaby Nasri
Ouch that midfield is not too exiting. Who could we buy to strengthen it? At best I'd see us getting some unknown player which is not by any means necessarily a bad thing, it just won't quench the fan's thirsts to buy a proven quality midfielder.
I could also see us going for a CB if we sell Toure.
And no no no I'm not getting my hopes up for Arshavin, I learned that the hard way this summer. I just can't see us getting a 27 year old player who we'd really have to splash out the cash for. It just goes against Wenger's logic too much.

Be that as it may, you NEED a 26-30 quality player in there. I think Arshavin is more of a second striker, but perhaps you should get a good DM or CM. Honestly, if he's playing at the level he did last year, I'd suggest Makelele. He's got experience, he will deliver, and even if he retires next season, you're only looking for a temporary replacement, right?

Otherwise, any experienced midfielder who's looking for a move would be good. You don't want to splurge on a replacement. Or try and loan Tymoschuk for a few months. Maybe Zenit will let him go because their league is ending.

Wow, Arsenal 0-1 at the half, and extremely lucky to be ahead. Villa hit the post three times and Sagna cleared a ball inches from the goal, and then Arsenal score on their only chance of the half....

I love Arsenal, but they are playing like sh*t. I've never seen them give the ball away so easily.

A draw was frustrating because of how late we conceded, but with all things considered, meaning injuries and how unlucky Villa were in the first half, a draw wasn't too bad. I saw quality from Denilson today that I haven't seen before, I also thought Silvestre did a very good job defensively and Diaby showed us some of his potential. I have extremely high hopes for Diaby and I think he can be great, but his little flicks and blind passes are very frustrating to watch. Give him time and he should be really good.

Like I said despite some initial frustration, I'm pretty pleased with how we played today and I saw some very promising performances from some of our players.

Arsenal in very bad shape for the moment with so many injuries and not enough funds to buy new players. I see Arsenal going downhill if this continues, but things can change when the injured players are back and the young players gain more experience.

Not that it matters, but we have the best Equifax rating in the league. 98/100. United are second with a 93.

Chelsea got a 10.

Hull a 1!

Clubs below 20 are technically insolvent.

just need to hold on till mid/late February. Should have 3/4 injured back and hopefully have Arshavin to replace the missing Eduardo

"not enough funds" u high? Arsenal have tons of money with their gayass strict salary structure and havent signed anyone (other than nasri) for past like 3 seasons they got tons of money just arsene wenger is a dumbass who thinks his "young player squad" can win a title when in reality will never happen. he needs to wake the **** up and live in the real world and start signing experienced good players if they ever want any hope of winning a title.

lol.

Realistically Christoph Metzelder to replace Gallas the weak link.

Could go after Makelele. Use him for just a year/2 until he retires.

Arshavin to play as a super sub for Eduardo

3/4 injured players will be back in February or on track to. If so, Arsenal can scrape by for a couple of weeks and stay close enough an have a chance to challenge the top spot if MANU, Chelsea, Liverpool continue to gag

Anyone wanna tell me Wengers logic on getting Arshavin? Eduardo is at 100% health and the more he plays the closer he will be to full form. Why do we need Arshavin? He is 27/28... Why doesn't he sign you know something Arsenal needs like a CB or CDM... I would love to see a player like Gattuso(Doubt he would leave Milan) or someone with some balls.

I do understand Arsenal is kind of limited to offense due to the injuries but I think they are all supposed to be back in February. If this is true, then why don't you work on a bigger problem that won't be fixed in the near future. CDM is still a joke on Arsenal.

Arsenal have been pretty much sh*t this season. They have been loooking behind their shoulders when the other big 4 teams have been looking ahead. 3 point gap between Villa and Arsenal. I think it will be the big 3 next season!

nd being very cheap and stingy when it comes to players salaries. they arent going to be winning anything any time soon. Also they needs to stop relyig on 1 player to play well and win matches like they have been the past liek 5-6 years. before they relied on henry to do everything and win the matches for arsenal now after henry era Fabregas has taken over henry's role.

So Arsenal as well needs to build a team that doesn't rely on 1 player. and also drop this "young team garbage" cuase by the time that young team would be good enough to win a title's the other teams will sign way better players and still be better. so in todays world that tactic wenger is trying isn't going to work.

If arsenal change these 3 things they will easily become a title contending team once more.

Because he will do atleast 3 years of this at arsenal:

Arsenal is perfect club for he and because he could play on the wing if he needs him too, much better than eboue who is ten times the defender than he is a winger.. plus wenger is the best judge of talent of all the managers
