***Group C [GROUP OF DEATH] - Italy vs Netherlands [P + R]

watched and would say that the Italians were unlucky with the 1st goal, on another day, it would've been ruled out for offside, despite the rule the most people don't know about. Cheeky ref/linesman probably didn't see Panucci and covered all of it up by referring to the rule book after the match, hehehe.

well, the Italians were made to pay for negative tactics(letting the Dutch come at them early on) and also probably due to their fear of taking the risk of giving youngsters like Chiellini, Aquilani and De Rossi a chance....

well, the controversial goal was the 1st goal so it was a major turning point of the game. If the goal was the 2nd or 3rd goal, it wouldn't have matter much.

The 1st goal gave the young and energetic Dutch team the opportunity to absorb pressure and hit the not so young and energetic Italians on the break.(see 2nd and 3rd goals, all very brilliantly executed counter-attacks).
and Van Der Sar was outstanding once again. just brilliant.

Have the young Dutch team finally reached their peak? We'll see. Still a long way to go but they certainly impressed almost everyone(;P) with the way they played.
And the Italians need to win desperately against Romania if they want to go through. They need the result going to the game against France, thats what I think, at least.

Hmm, so it looks like a case of real bad-luck. You shouldn't have players intentionally stepping off the field, but I don't think this was the case with Panucci.

Yes the Stupid Whopp Delibertly left the field and stayed there. he just got a tiny bump from his Goalie and layed there holding hs head (which Never got hit anyway) cold easily of got up and came back onto th field. not oly that the Referee never gave him Permission to leave the field so therefore even if he was injured (which he wasnt) he should've stil been on the field. and dot tell me a lttle bump wit the goalie. is gong to make him fall and roll 10000000000000k away. i'v seen much worse collisions and the players dot roll that far infact they dot roll at all. so thereforeif he wasinjured he shou;d've still been on the field (which would b reall cloe to the goal line) and ths keeping RVN onside. so #1 the ref didnt give him permission to leave the field" and #2he cold've stayed on the field andlay there injured but instead made a uer unealistic stupid roll off the field. face it its a completly legit goal. an the whop defender tried to take advantage of a rule but failed. also people act like if goal never contedItaly would've won. faceit Italy got competly domited and it woldt of made a differecnce if it coted r not. w wold've scored eventually (whcih wedid 2 times) and Italy never lookedlike scorig (only 1 time) they just got desperate and took random shots. its done Italy sucks save it

i thought if you leave the pitch without the refs permission its a yellow card anyway?

(not accidentaly leaving the pitch like panucci though)

The ref NEVER gave the injury faking douche bag whopp Permission to leave the field. not oly that hs w team-mate knocked him off the field. and team can do that to take advantage o the rule the goale and purpsdly collide into 1 of his defenders make i loo like an ccident and let him cry like alittle ****** and rolll off the field to push them offside. which in a way they kid of did. (except oly the player was in on it) he just got alittle bump from his goalie. and wasnt ijured he just did what Italy do best is "act" and fake inuries. to try and take advantage of the rule. ths rule in m opinion is an amazing rule and should stand. teams ca easily take advantage of the rule like Italy tried to do. so if the Cry-baby actually didnt fake an inury got up and came back on the field then they probaly wouldnt of counted the goal.

****ty game. just wasn't italy's day, to say the least.

the dutch deserved to win, but not by a scoreline of 3-0. we deserved one if not two goals but our finishing was simply terrible.

i don't believe the players that were on the pitch played to the strengths of the 4-3-3. it really put us at a disadvantage vs the a 4-5-1 dutch squad with pace and a killer counter.

that being said, we still created enough chances to win while playing as badly as we did, and the dutch score on a controversial goal and two counters while we were chasing the game.

law 11: offside. i've done my research before saying anything and i have to say that goal is offside. in the official fifa laws of the game it doesn't clarify anything specific pertaining to this situation. of course uefa have come out and backed the ref but according to the International Football Association Board the key to this situation is whether said player(Panucci) left the field on his own momentum or left the field by other circumstance not controlled by the player

now UEFA general secretary David Taylor has said "'Even though the Italian defender (Christian Panucci) was off the field because of his momentum, he is still deemed to be part of the game and is therefore taken into considersation as one of the last two defending players."

for those who watched the game, can you honestly say that Panucci left the field on his own momentum. Panucci collided with buffon, taking the brunt to the head and even before there was danger of a goal was lying motionless on the ground.

at this point im not worried about this situation, its in the past. and i am confident that if by chance we meet holland down the road it will be a much different story.

so if we can play that poorly, and still create enough chances to win, or atleast contend, we will be fine.

remember, italians love drama.

ITaly didnt Deserve nothin from that game and they sholdve lost around 6-0 ok maybe 1 goal. they got competly dominated by Netherlands plain and simple the first Netherland goal was completly Legit.i s Simple the goalie collied with hs own player whch was Very bad co-ordiation on Italies part. and its there own fault there player got "injured" not only that Pannuscchi faked the injury. he didn't even get hit in the head and hes the ground crying like a ****** holding hs supposed injured head. it was a tiny little bump into his goalie. i'v seen much worse collisions and players get up immedietly and not only that don't magicall roll 1000000000000km away and Pannuch somehow rolls 100000km away on a tiny collision. face it the cheat faked an injury to take advantage of the rule. and the Ref Never gave him permission to leave the field. therefore he should've still been on the field and had no right to be off the field. and if he actually was injured be laying on the field not off it. and thus putting RVN onside oh and noticed after the goal was scored no medic staff ppl went to his aid and he just got rght back up like nothing happened. hes a dirty cheat just like the whole italian team is. and m glad the ref didnt buy it.

One of the best reffed games that I've witnessed in recent memory, man. That head ref was almost flawless. He was kinda excessive with his gesticulations as he was calling out an individual for a foul because I'd instantly assume that he was about to card 'em or something, man.

Anyway, who the fucck is this Engelaar brute? Who's ass did he eat out vigorously to not only be put on the team but also get a starting gig? WTF? He's an unskilled dumbass, man. All I see is bright red whenever he's in the vicinity of an individual or the ball...he'll probably find a way to get himself red carded while his side is in the opposition's attacking half and in full control of the ball before this tourney is over.

Regarding Sneijder....WOW! Weird saying this, but I think that he might've been a bargain at that price that Real paid for 'em. He's like a more physically gifted and aggressive version of Pirlo.....and that's saying a lot....comparing someone else to Pirlo, which I don't do much because I consider him to be one of the most technically skilled and cerebral footballers in recent times, you know? What a creative and advanced soccer mind he's got, this kid, man. Much like Pirlo, this kid is a progression or two ahead of everyone else..he see's a play developing way in advance of almost everyone else....and that ability is just hard to acquire through practice or whatever in my opinion, man.

What an unrestrained badass, man.....I think that's where he surpasses Pirlo a bit....in his explosive relentlessness in the offense and admirable amount of boldness to his overall game....what a badass!

A player must be given permission to leave the field of play by the referee before being considered out of play. That was absolutly not the case so the goal is 100% correct. I think you (+ all the Italians) should be more worried about your performance then the referee's decision. I admit you deserved at least one goal + the 3 goals are maybe too much but we have had some more opportunities to even make 4 or 5 goals.

point taken. then why didn't UEFA, when defending the referees decision make this point instead of interpretations of Law 11.

Don't make me laugh we were the best throughout the whole game, read all the newspapers and websites about it if you don't believe me.
I suggest you accept the defeat and move on, Italy was outplayed by the Dutch yesterday and that's just the way it is...3-0 and well deserved because that was what football is all about, attacking play and scoring goals.
Total football if you like, Italy is getting old and I mean this in a literally way, take the ages of the Italians and compare them with the ages of the Dutch yesterday... it's time Italy gives young players a chance.

i completely agree with you on the "it's time Italy gives young players a chance". players like palladino, rosina, rossi, giovinco, montolivo. even aquilani and de rossi who started on the bench should be playing. no, but these players will be national team regulars in the future but they won't be till there 25-26.

i don't know whether it is a written rule somewhere but this has to change.

oh and defence wins championships not "Total Football":) (although i wouldn't mind seeing the dutch win)
