Sokota was praised as the best striker in Portugal in his first year around. Did he "unlearned" to play?
He's tall, has good feet skills. He can hold the CB's of any team, he can create spaces. He's a perfect fit for a team that doens't need him to score 15 goals/season but to back up someone who does (Positga).


Oh, and I clearly remember an interview with Ricardo Carvalho, 2 years ago, on wich the reporter asked him: what was the hardest player you had to mark until now?

you benfiquistas have a very short memory. I remember all of you praising Sokota last year, even putting him in your all-star line-up ahaead of Derlei, Adriano, and McCarthy. Sokota can be a very useful player and will definately help Postiga score many goals.

Plus he scored 4 goals in 11 games for you guys this season. That isn't that bad of a scoring rate, better than Nuno Gomes that's for sure. I'll gladly welcome in Porto next season.

For that spot, you could always look for a player of your "B" team, he would not be expensive at all with wages, and he would not care about being benched, in fact he would be very proud just with the situation of being at the first team, and i believe Porto has good players at the youths, better than Sokota, that can be taking a place of a young Portuguese just because of the boring PDC attitude that it's getting so ridiculous. Why would he want Sokota? There is only one explanation, and that is to annoy us, guess what old man... WE DON'T GIVE A SH*T ABOUT SOKOTA . Also, Sokota spent a big part of the season not playing, so his phisical conditions aren't the best.

So, to PDC keep doing Hugo Leal deals... And to the fans, keep defending him.

And Paulo da Silva, yes, Sokota was very good last year.

Seitaridis, even after having a poor season, has got the attention of the football world because of his amazing Euro2004 performances.
Before he came to Porto, Real Madrid were very interested in him, but we managed to secure his services in time.
So I guess that people still rate him as being a very good SB, hell, even I still do and I'me a Porto fan
I'm disappointed he left, but the fee was indeed very good for the club.....

Haha yea sure mate, Baptista was who I got mixed up with, haha but Fabiano and Oliveira would be good. Lol mix uuuup. But yea he'd get good service at Sevilla consdering both their wingers especially Adriano are very attacking minded and arent afraid to take players on and get balls in that box. So how likely is the deal to happen? Does Fabiano want to go? Do the Porto fans want him to?

Oh and im sure I saw Carlos Alberto in a Brasil shirt, maybe it was U21's or somethin? But sheesh Brasil have got loads of players who aren't anywhere near first choice and are top class, even people like Robinho, Alberto and Oliveira, who hardly play are still there. Amazin.

We'll see though eh, I really really do hope and pray Quaresma takes off and moves to say.. The Premiership after next season, atleast with Denilson he had actually performed in World Cups etc, but Quaresma's barely played in the Champions League, I just want him to do well so he can join a top club and be a top player. But it could easily go wrong. If Porto fans had to predict, what would you say about Quaresma?

I'm not a Porto fan but I'd say Quaresma has at least 2x the talent of Diego.

yes, but Diego is Brazilian...and in Portugal you can be mediocre, but as long as you've got a Brazilian passport you're a football star! (although I think Diego is much better than just mediocre, but it happens in other cases very often)

Concerning Sokota, I think he can adapt perfectly to Postiga's playing style. The Croat is not a great player, but can be very useful. And I have a feeling he'll score against Benfica next season (you all know that is going to happen ).
Definitely a good sign, considering he comes for free.

- Fabiano probably wants to go yeah, because he's being rated sh't now here in Portugal, but to be honest I'd give him another season at the club, things could actually work out for him, who knows right?
But most of the fans want him to leave as soon as possible, at least that's the impression I have..

- Your right about C. Alberto, he was on the Brazilian NT when he was younger...I was only thinking about the main squad, can't remember any call-up for him

- m8 I don't want Quaresma to go! He has loads and loads of potencial, and we should try to put his talent working for Porto, not expect it to flow on another club..
He'll probably spend, say, two more seasons with us, have a blast, and then go to England, who knows joining C. Ronaldo at ManU

People, about Sokota:

He's always shown to be at least useful to the team when he was at Benfica, many Benfica fans praised him, thought he was fantastic and sh't.
Then this situation came up, with the mess about his contract, and he became an unwanted player by them.

I've always thought he could be useful to a team, but never liked his style..too slow, too sh'tty with his feet, only good skills are at protecting the ball from CB's, basically...
he won't do any wonders at Porto, I'm sure of that, but I hope he does come to prove me wrong and give us many joys in the future.

BUT, Hugo Almeida would be our extra striker, if I could chose..
I don't know how someone compared him to Romeu


Btw, PdC has dismissed the Viana rumours already.

And Claudio could be going to Stuttgart as a part of the Meira deal
although he said he wants to say with Porto for the next 2/3 years..
I don't think PdC will allow him to even have a chance at the club again after the Flamengo deal collapsed the way it did....

wow O jOgo reported today that porto are after Pedro Mendes in exchange for Benni+ we get cash this time aswell. And Claudio could be on his way out to Stuttgart and we get Meira. Our team will own next season.

This is one of the players I've missed the most so far.
Solid midfielder, humble, always made his job in perfection whithout being very shiny on the field....briliant player, one of the most underrated that ever left Porto!

Having said that, it must be pretty obvious that I'm absolutely thrilled with this news

Plus, there are rumours about Swiss midfielder Hakan Yakin (Stuttgart own him, he's been on loan at Galatasaray) being an option for us next year..
I find him to have an extremely skilled left foot, really talented guy, the only thing not so good is his age: 28
I mean he's not old, but I just think the club should hold on to bringing young blood to the squad.

Anyway these are just rumours right, but I can't wait to see at least Mendes coming asap

man i do hope we can get P. Mendes back! that was our worst deal last season, Mendes could have been the most important player this season in our squad if he had stayed here...let's hope he comes back...

Not even at Guimarães he's good, he only cares about night and fame.

Peixoto had a great period with Mourinho, until he got injured in that game against Marseille...i think if the coach manages to impose some discipline in him he can be of a great value in our squad
