IGN.com reports that its Konami officially is going to enable PES 4 to be played online on the Xbox and xbox only. Konami will have some NERVE if it won't be online on PS2. PS2 owners/fans got the series to where it is now and for years, ps2 fans were demanding online play. Then when online play finally is announced, its reported it will be XBOX only!!?!?!?!? Its a surprise that Xbox is recieving the game but in Xbox's rookie year supporting the game RECIEVES ONLINE play? Konami literally will just Screw ps2 owners. I know no one will boycott the game because its just so amazing but something has to be done to show konami that ps2 fans do not support and dissapprove of this BS. :kader: :kader: :kader:

Allot of rumors will be banging about what with Online Play not being a certain feature. Wait till the game comes out then complain that there is no online play, if their isn't of course

i think most people already knew this by now. and btw, its exclusive to XBL so no PC online

Yes, we already knew this for two days but IGN very sneaky changed the news.
They say that it reads 'online play or penalties' in stead of 'exhibition match or penalties', which is essentially different. In the first case Konami themselves would have confirmed that you can play on-line. In the second case you can see it as a programming bug, not belonging to the LIVE icon, but to the Exhibition-match-icon....In that last case there will still be a very small chance that you only can download content in stead of playing on-line.... ;) But some Konami-people already told people (me among others) that you can play on-line. Probably IGN has got the same confirmation.

Why konamyi dont tell everybody that they will include online play in pes4?!?!?!Cause its a big thing.....

They will tell, but I think they wait for the perfect moment (in their view). Maybe it's like this: If they do it too early, they don't get the right attention, but if they do it late, everybody has eagerly awaited the announcement and they get maximum attention!
It's a company who thinks about this sort of things..... ;)

I dont understand why it (seemingly) not gonna be online for pc. People say "microsoft handles the networking stuff and they make xbox so it is only online for xbox" but they make windows too. Maybe some online functionality will be in there but disabled (like vice city (and we2002?)) so modders will be able to finish what was started or it could be enabled in an official patch, but thats unlikely. Personally im more pissed off about the many old pes annoyances like losing control of your players (why the **** is that not fixed yet, bugs should be top priority) still being there.

Microsoft wouldnt make any profit out of doing it for Pc

No, that's not the reason:
Konami wanted a secure gameserver and going on-line on the PC does not provide that. That's all.
They will make their own secure gameserver for PC, if they have not changed their policy of last year.

erm.... i wonder why. PS2 is the highest selling console in the world. PS2 online is free. :rolleyes:

anyway thats like saying Pokemon is better than Pro Evo coz its bigger :rolleyes:

Look at the bright side of things, cup half-full, rather than half-empty -- type thing:

The fact that PES4 will be Live-enabled should put pressure on Konami to get the PS2 side of things online -- quicker.

If it weren't for Live, PS2 WE gamers would be waiting around much longer for online capabilities, methinks.

You, my friend (topic starter) are missing one very important fact. It's not that KONAMI is betreying SONY and its users. No. If M$ didn't ask KONAMI to bring the X-Box online, KONAMI on their own wouldn't do it. If SONY asked them, they'd probably do it too but it's too late now. M$ = exclusive deals.

You should be mad at SONY for not takin action.

If it wasn't for M$ we would have to wait another year for a WE/PES game to go online.

M$ deserves this deal. Huges and kisses to them.

Jumbo, so you think this was an exclusive deal? If WE was the only footy available on Live, it'd make sense, I guess. Otherwise, it'd be surprising that Konami would sign away the PS2 side of things.

PES on Live is a brilliant deal for both sides. A Live "exclusive" seems a much better deal for MS than Konami in the long run, it seems to me.
