Alenitchev, you said to Gant something about going and playing something else like ISS that is not like football?
If you are trying to tell me that UC is better than ISS PE2, then I am sorry my friend you need your head read and quickly!
When I first played ISS PE2 I hated it, because I tried to play it like I played fifa. I struggled to get to grips with the controls, passing, running and the affect enertia had on players when they passed, crossed or shot at goal.
Then after a couple days I started to see what it was all about, I started to discover the magic of the game. It took time yes, however it is the most realistic iteration of virtual football on any platform.
I have installed the UC patch and it makes a huge difference now, yes, however the game is a arcade simulation of football. The game is not bad, however, it just does not feel smooth. The passing is scripted and the ball is played directly to feet 90% of the time.
Crossing is much better, however, now when you cross the ball your player gets the ball all by himself in the box everytime and you can score.
I have spent days playing this game, trying to understand how to play the game. Maybe I don't understand the correct way to play the game...I don't know. What is it that makes this game fundamentally difficult is the flawed AI of the game.
How is it you can have a player take the ball away from you if you have your back to them? IMPOSSIBLE! Why have this nonsense in a game? Dribbling past a player does not only involve speed and crappy scripted tricks.
I have to say it...play ISS and you will see. Turn the defender right, left, right amazing. If you get the better of the defender and position your body between the defender and the ball...you guessed it...he can't get it. In UC however, everytime you go anywhere near a opposition player he steals the ball how ridiculous.
I could sit here for hours and give the pros and cons of the game. Unfortunately there are more cons than pros...simple.
The patch is a certain improvement, needless to say the dev team have done a great job, their efforts to correct the bugs and gameplay issues is highly commendable.
