There are a few areas of concern regarding the squad this summer with three players sure to leave in Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky while Debuchy, Joel Campbell and possibly, Theo will be sold.
Midfield- Flamini was the only one with some games this season, We missed Rosicky with Cazorla's injury and Ramsey being god awful in midfield. With Xhaka coming in and expected promotion of Jeff and Toral, possibly Dan Crowley along with how well Elneny has done, midfield should do fine.
We're linked to Kante and there are rumours that he may have a buy-out clause of just 20m eu's but I don't see it happening unless we sell Ramsey or someone.
CBs- Personally, I'm very worried about the CB position and lack of rumours about this. Per is done as a starter, Gabriel has been very erratic and Koscielny's been losing his pace and didn't really have a great season by his standards along with his injuries. Chambers had a decent games that he played recently but he should be playing more often.
There were few links to Manolas and we tried to get him but he went to Roma. I like him a lot, great player but would cost big money and maybe, we'd be better off with more leadership? We should look to make an opportunistic deal for Benatia. He is a talker and organizer so it could prove to be a great signing. Or try to sign Kamil Glik from Torino- captain, aerially very good and a good conservative passer.
FBs- Debuchy's departure, Jenkinson's failed loan and possible Gibbs departure is going to be dealt with. I would like us to move for Janmaat and Amavi now that their clubs are relegated. Janmaat has experience, is a good player with great athleticism while Amavi could be a steal.
AMs/Wingers- If it were up to me, I'd sell Ox and keep Joel. Sell Theo too. Gnabry, Toral and Iwobi to the first team squad. But Joel and Wellington Silva are the ones likely to be sold while Theo going is a possibility.
A player coming in is likely but I'm not really sure who should we aim for. Maybe, wait for an opportunity if Robben gets sold? Or Goetze? Mkhitaryian is gna cost big money but obviously wouldn't mind him, here.
Strikers/Forwards- With Welbeck's injury we are going to sign a striker. Giroud as the starting CF is done. Walcott, no way. From the youngsters if Akpom impresses in pre season probably he'll get a chance in the first team this season.
We desperately do need a player coming in but there is no obvious option or no links beyond Morata. I LOVE Nabil Fekir of Lyon and he is a potential world beater. Blowing the budget on Lukaku may be an option, too. Zlatan on a free transfer for a season with selling Giroud along with a younger option like Morata or Fekir coming in would be the dream solution for me.
