To continue with the 10th anniversary celebration of the 2014 World Cup and sadly, to mourn the end of my national football team's 2026 World Cup aspirations, I am sharing here a patch created by @runaway42 back in the day.

He actually released it on a local football forum site, but I'm surprised he wasn't able to share it here despite posting screenshots of it.

Without further ado, may I share his Philippine national team patch and translate to the best of my ability:

If you're a FIFA14 fan, you know that the console version has a Road to World Cup DLC and the Philippine squad is available there. But sadly, you're a PC player. No worries. Modders to the rescue!

The good guys of fifa-infinity has released their World Cup patch bringing the World Cup experience to our PCs.

FIFA-INFINITY WC PATCH FEATURES:

This project is an addon to the WC patch by fifa-infinity. If you've seen the squad included in the console version, you might have noticed, it's Azkals 2012. So I decided to put down the controller, tone down the World Cup fever, and learn how to mod FIFA.

AZKALS' ADD-ON Features:
>> Updated squad as of AFC Challenge Cup + other players not available because of injuries/other commitments (27 players in total)
>> Updated 2014 Puma kits + 2 Alternate kit designs
>> Added missing mini-faces

I've already released an early version in a facebook group. But I really want to make this patch more comprehensive. I'm not confident on the player ratings I gave on the players because it's just based on my opinion and the limit that I won't give the team 3 stars. The 2 stars is already pushing it. I created this for my personal use. I'm willing to take your suggestions if you think this player should have this stat, let me know and I'll consider it.

Next phase: Adding AFF Suzuki Cup and the AFC Challenge Cup. The team that released the WC patch has created these tournaments for FIFA13, so I'm contacting them for help or if they have plans to include these in their patch. (JuicyShaqMeat notes 2024-06-14: unfortunately this didn't get released)

FAQ

>How to play Tournaments?
a. In the Station tool, choose what type you want to play and what database you want to use.
(Remember for pirates, you can't use station tool to switch database. See Instructions in Database folder of the addon)

*Road to WC. Experience every part of the WC. From qualifying to the Finals.
*Final 32 Finalists. Live in the present and play as one of the teams playing in Brazil. (Did you wish the WC group stage has gone another way? Go and enjoy alternate reality.)

b. Launch game, Go to NEW TOURNAMENTS, choose what TOURNAMENT you prefer to play. Asian CUP, Copa Centenario, World Cup, etc.
--Choose or replace the team you want. (For example in Asian Cup: Find Palestine, Press replace button depends on what controller you use and choose PHILIPPINES!)

>Can I play Career mode?
No. This is only tournament mode.

>Can I play online?
No.

>I have a saved career, can I play it while WC add-on is installed?
Yes. When you disable and exit Station tool, fifa goes back to it's Original mode. Just Backup your save files just to be sure(can be found in My Documents/FIFA14).

>What if I want to change Tournaments? I am playing 32 Finalists but I want to experience Road to WC, can I continue my previous tournament?
Yes. Just make sure when you want to play your old tournament, you will apply the same type of Tournament and Database in Station Tool. (example: My tournament save was 32 Finalists, using Final - 23 Man Squads. I'll apply that before launching the game so I can load the save file.)

>My Fifa is crashing. What can I do?
Re-read the instruction and do it again. I've tested this a couple of times in Fresh FIFA installs and it works fine. The problem is in your end. Maybe try on a fresh install of FIFA.
Comment details of your error and I'll try to help you.

>I have other mods installed in my game, will this interfere them?
Depends on how you installed your mods. The fifa-infinity patch is using jenkey's fileloader, when you exit the station tool, the ini files and the dll that enables the game to read the contents are removed to the Game folder thus you can use your other mods. If you're using fileloader, edit the ini to disbale it. Start the station tool and enjoy the WC game. After exiting station tool, copy the dsound.dll from Game\fiWC-tool\FILES to the Game folder.

>How to remove this patch?
Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, find FIFA WORLD CUP 2014 PATCH, and Uninstall.

>I know how to edit FIFA using Creation Master, can I use your add-on?
Sure. Don't forget to credit fifa-infinity and me.

If you want a CMP file or the PSD of the kits, PM me and I'll send it to you.

>Any plans for a UFL patch?
NO. I'm sorry but creating a new league is too complicated for me to do it alone. Data of players are also not readily available which is another burden.

What I'm planning to do (or ask the original patch makers because they had done it in last year's FIFA13 Road to WC patch) is create the Suzuki and Challenge Cup tourneys.

CREATOR'S NOTE:

The player ratings are what I'd like some input. They're based on my personal opinion and the a star rating limit. So if you have any input about the player ratings, feel free to share so we can discuss it with others. EA's own rating system isn't flawless either so there's room for creativity.

These are the factors I considered:

1. Realism. We can't seriously give our NT a 3 star rating. Thailand has only 1 star rating. Palestine has only 1 and half star rating. The 2 stars I gave the team is kinda pushing it.

2. A lot is based on my personal opinion here. The data I can gather is limited. I'm sorry. I'm alone in making this patch and I did this for myself. I'm just sharing this to whoever might want them.

>EA has a released a squad for PH in the console version of their World Cup game. It was from 2012 I think (it's already 2014 but the squad still uses the 2012 lineup... Hayyyzzz Philippine Football progressed a lot from 2012 to 2014). Players like Gener, Araneta, Sabio are still part of the team. What I did is replace their names, edited the position, added personal details, then edited the player skills as I see them.

>For me, Schrock, PYH, Etheridge, Muller, Lucena, Gier, are the pillars of the team. I also rate Steuble highly because of his command in midfield. Lucena to break the opponent's attacks, Stueble to bring the ball forward and start play.

>Patigol is slightly higher than PYH. Let his fangirls rage hahahaha I added CAM as another of PYH's position because I firmly believe he's best when the defense is not focused on him up top and his vision and playmaking skills are wasted as striker. (Funny thing is, every game I play with PYH, he gets injured. And I didn't even put injury prone trait... FIFA magic lol)

>I nerfed Bahadoran's 60 EA rating. Why? To keep the star ratings down. Simple. Not because he's the LORD! lol There's too many 60+ rated players which raises the team rating and he's not supposed to be in the team anyways. He's added because he was already part of the original EA squad.

>As much as I want to give Deyto, Aguinaldo, Daniels, and Porteria, higher ratings, I stopped myself. If you play FIFA you know that the promising young stars from lower leagues or any major team doesn't get a 57+ rating.

>If you want to edit the ratings for yourself. I can give a separate Tutorial. For anyone who already knows CM editing, PM me and I can give you a CMP file.

BTW, the shorts of the kits are not exact replicas. Instead of the blue red line, I put a yellow gold line to add another color to the kit. It's bad enough Puma just rehashed Chile's 2012 Away kit and they didn't even bother adding any detail that can give our kit some flavor. So I included an alternate blue on white, white on blue alternate design with slight modifications. Hope you like it.

There are also no customized faces included. That's too difficult for my basic photoshop skills. lol
