FIFA Managers 10, 11, 13, 14 - suddenly black screen after EA title screen

Hi, I've been playing FIFA Manager 10 recently. About a week ago, the game crashed after I tried to quit the post-match screen to go back to the main menu and now whenever I try to open the game again, the EA title screen shows and then it all turn to black but the music continues. If I open the kits section in the editor, the blank character doesn't walk and I can't spin it properly. This goes for all the FIFA Manager games installed, including 11, 13 and 14.

What happened and how do I solve it? I'm playing on Windows 10 but it had been working for years before the crash...

If it doesn't help, try to run the game in windowed mode:
add

WINDOWED=1

to locale.ini in the game root folder.
