I was playing as tottenham in that screenshot, and I've had about 3 other games like that, not as bad as that, but games where i completely dominate, yet the scoreline at the end is a tie or a loss because of the two times the opponent's attacked, it switched me to the wrong defender, or my defender just didn't put in the tackle i told him to, or he did put in the tackle, but it did nothing and the attacker just tanks through the defender
speaking of defender, before i get into the rest of your questions, I want to add how slow defenders are, they're always slower than every player on the pitch, i had a time where a 50 pace striker easily beat Van de Ven on pace.
But anyhow, I play on the latest version of FC24, ultimate difficulty, 8 minutes, alternative referee mod, because the default referee mod kept giving people red cards for breathing weird.
Please, please tell me if i should change any of these settings i really want to get my experience fixed
and again sorry for leading with an unhelpful, and slightly passive aggressive comment, i was quite mad at the time because all the supposed "realism" gameplay mods were just giving me the same, sluggish, error filled gameplay experiences and it eventually lead to that screenshot.

Thanks Mate, this feedback gives a better overview for everybody included Anth of course. I understand from my point of the experience I made with the mod last season what you are saying.
My question is in that case did you try any of the "options" which come with the Main Mod? Or better to ask do you play with the free Version of the Mod or do you play with the paid Version from Patreon. The Version with extra Options gives you full control of your personal play style because you can set many many aspects which you have mentioned in your Post to adjust your gameplay experience.
Are you already joining Anth´s Discord Server? There are a very good place for getting suggested "setup´s" with the options of the mod from other Members with posted Screenshots how and in what order to enable them? It´s a very lively Discord Server. You should consider joining them if you not already there. The link should be in the mod download Folder, maybe in one of the readme´s.

yes i specifically reset all sliders for the mod
I do also use the free version, so i haven't been able to use any other option other than fast and slow, and fast is too fast for me, and slow, well, is too slow.

The ref giving cards - you need to set your referee in game to very lenient.

Sounds like the regular version or the medium standalone might suit you best.
