    CM works well for many people so I assume the problem is in your installation. The only thing that I can deduce from your post is that it fails while opening a DB. Be sure to have .NET Framework 4.8 Runtime installed.

    When using EA App I recommend to set it offline BEFORE to play any match in RFS. With this setting it works much faster and, at least for me, it always starts properly.

    The importing algorithm should work fine because it uses the market value. If the market value is not available on transfermarkt.com then the level is assumed to be low but is a little bit randomized. Overall it should work well.

    It is unlikely that the crash while playing is due to RFS, more likely there are player faces or hair that cause the crash. In order to have a quick start of FIFA 16, I recommend to set EAApp offline, often it interferes with the game launch. Not sure that this solve your issue but you can try.
